Anyone with Husky history?

Is there anyone out there with late model Husky history? I mean I have read that their street legal enduro models are basically full on, race spec (or at least as close to it as any are) dirt bikes that carry license plates...

I mean I would love it if I could get a KX450F with lights and a tag holder, but I don;t think there is a Japanese manufacturer that's building anything like that.

Any input?

This was a BIG help...

Maybe people are staying away from them since they're Italian, but have a Swedish name!

Tis true, they are in fact 50 state legal from what I know. The 250/450/510 models are very similar to the KTM offerings, i.e., race ready. They also have a TE610 and SM610, both are also 50 state legal. The 610 is a different design, more weight but also more oil capacity and perhaps a better choice if you plan on alot of street time. I was real close to getting the TE610 but it has had some issues and I decided to pass for this years offering. It's a real nice bike though, as are it's smaller brothers and I am somewhat regretfull that I did not pull the trigger.

Bottom line is that it is one of the only real dirtbikes out there right now that you can easily get a tag for street use. NJ has clamped down hard on the issuance of plates this year, my local dealer had no problem getting any of the new Huskys through.

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately for me the only dealer in the state just bailedout on them, so I've got to do some looking around and decide once and for all if the TE is for me, or the SMR (it depends on if I'll use it near home or away where the real dirt is), but either way I think the light weight and still big power will probably make the 510 the right size for me.

Thanks again for the input..!
