Agreed on that point.
That first bike (with fairing) looks quite good... much better than the stock Z1000. Good paint scheme.
At first glance the second and third bikes appear to maybe be the same bike but minus the fairing, but apparently actually are not that bike, or maybe are that bike but with more mods besides the front end. Don't care for those pics as much as the first.
The last bike winds up looking really wide. To me it doesn't work, as the Z1000 just isn't a badass bike, there is no way it can live up to a badass look. Better to be more trim-looking like the first bike.

One of my friends at KMC made one out of a ZX10. It looks and feels right! Way better than a Z1000.

It could have been a good thing maybe if Kawasaki had delayed the Z1000 project by a year (if I have my timeframe right) and released it as a ZX-10R-based bike, I think.
