I watched that race Ted. It was very impressive to say the least !!! Reminded me of his past 125 career. He would go from way back in the pack with a poor start to up front in 1/2 lap. He was much more reckless back then and it's awesome to see him mature into a rider capable runnin with the big boys.
Kawasaki will loose alot my respect if they let him slip from their grip. Can't expect him to be on team green forever but a few good seasons would be nice.

Don't you mean running away and hiding from the big boys? Especially the likes of Carmichael.

Why oh why do you always have to bring the racial issue into a post??? He's a great
rider. PERIOD. black/white/yellow/pink/blue/brown it doesn't matter.
The reason racial issues still exist is because people like you have to bring it up!!!
Let it go and people will starting seeing people for who they are rather than the color of
their skin... If you weren't so racial in the first place, it wouldn't matter what color he is...
When you bring it up, it just perpetuates the difference...and all you do is keep the barrier

ALWAYS the SAME REASONS! "It took so long in Coming" and "It really feels good to see one of My people do Great!"
quote: "Starting early, natural talent and supportive parents are the keys. "
That statement was the Problem in the past. People that had the talent, had no where to start early and the parents were not into the new activity. Nowadays these things are changing and I am for 1 enjoying the change. Remember, for me a person that lived through a time that this was not possible, I am still getting used to it!

NO Kidding! I think when they dropped Drag Racing and Rickey Gadson so they could pay him the 4 to 5 Mil I heard (Who knows how much), I think they decided right there and then to hold on for good. Also, the Old Man is into Kawasaki's which helps them have a edge.
I know I am going to hear "IT" from "OTIS" on this one, but Kawasaki seems to be the factory that is breaking the "Color" Barrier in Motorcycle Racing first with Rickey and now James. All I am waiting for is a Fast Black Road Racer (Again ) and Kawasaki Back him / her
Color? I don't get it. Aren't people just people? You mean there is a difference because of the way a person looks? God I hope not, or I am going to have to rethink my opinion of what is in ones heart and mind is what counts.
Now paint color has been proven to make a bike faster. We all know Green is the fastest color.

I don't understand how harmony between races will ever exist when comments like this are constantly being made, " Kawasaki seems to be the factory that is breaking the "Color" Barrier in Motorcycle Racing." I get tired of the race card being played, especially after all the Tookie Williams bullshit.

Thinking about this Reminds me of what the Older Jewish People are dealing with. They all remember Hitler and what happened there and when they hear the Arabs making similar statements they get ready for war where the Young people just do not understand. There are people right now willing to tell you that the Extermination of the Jews NEVER Happened!
Race will no longer make a difference when?? "IT NO LONGER MAKES A DIFFERENCE"!
Everyone here sees it every day in the news. The woman Golfer Kim (What ever her name is), Tiger Woods, it is all the same. When every Sport and position in life has had someone of Color in the top spot, then it will no longer make a difference. I only see White People playing in the NHL, NASCAR (at least "1" thing to be thankful for ), F-1, MotoGP, LeMans and the Heads of the Fortune 500 companies, Skiing Events, Swimming events and of course the #1 Place where we have never seen people of Color!! While out Yachting .
Yes it should bother everyone that is is and can be a issue but in this case, it is a good thing. The Old Man is watching his son do everything he ever wanted to do and most likely better than he would have ever done it. SO just deal with the fact that Black People in their 60's on up are usually going to see what I see and younger people will not understand and be tired of it.
Remember, in 10 to 15 years, you guys will no longer have anyone around that sees things from my perspective, so enjoy them while I am here because when I am Gone, I will be GONE!!

Well Vin, when old bitter bastards (racist) such as yourself keep fanning the flames it will always make a difference. Black people will get all that you have wished for when they do the work required to get there. Just like Bubba, just like Tiger, just like Venus....and on and on. There are white people that think "the old way" as well, and combined with black people that constantly play the race card, (like you) racism will never die. EVER!!!!!!!
I respect you, and think you are a good guy. I also think that it is really cool that a guy your age has been busting his ass to go 200mph, and does all of his work himself. That's awesome to me, and I hope I can be like you in my "golden" years. But I could give a flying fuck if you are black or not. I respect you, and even though I probably ruffled your feathers with what I've said, it's just the way I feel. Just like what you wrote above, it's the way you feel. We can agree to disagree, I'm cool with that, and even though I don't agree with you, I respect your position.

Vince, I have a ton of respect for you and it's not because you are black and ride a sportbike. It's because you have a ton of knowledge when it comes to the 12 and you share it freely ( is that a word, lol).
Look at the sports that afro americans excel in rather than where they are non-existant.
I love to watch James race. It's not because he's the black kid out front, it's because he rides well. What about Mr. G. and his runs on the 1/4 mile ? So what if there are more whites than blacks racing bikes, playing hockey, golf, etc. ? Equal opportunity is more than available to any that have the desire to compete IMO.

Vince look at it this way...
If everytime a white guy did something great how would you feel if I said it like you do???
For example... The first man on the moon is a WHITE astronaut!!! Or the greatest fighter
in ultimate fighting is a WHITE guy named Mat Hughes... or should I post "As a WHITE
guy I ran a 9.37 on my 12?" It ruins the whole point of what was great in the first place.
So look at the difference below.
We finally made it to the moon...!!!! (Who cares if he was white or black or yellow)
Mat Hughes is awesome when he fights in the ring at ultimate fighting...
I ran a 9.37 on my 12... thanks to all the help I got from Vince and others...
Why bring in the race card??? All it does is to keep a wedge between us. I grew up
in Detroit. I remember having a whole bunch of friends as a kid, both black and white...
as a kid, you don't care about the difference. Then one day a mother runs outside and
says to one of the kids, "You don't play with them, they aren't like you." And just like that
the racial shit is carried over to another generation.
We know Bubba and Tiger are black... we don't need to say "Tiger, a black man, is a great
golfer..." just like we don't need to say "Tom a white man, is a great whatever...
Want more? How would blacks feel if I announced "WET" White Entertainment TV...
And no blacks were allowed to be in the commercials, no blacks were allowed in the
movies, etc... Yet "BET" is alive and well... I think it's terrible... it just keeps the division
alive.
I'm not saying to forget what happened in the past... but let's live today, and try to blend,
rather than living in the past and keeping the past alive... I'm tired of it, and I know my friends
(both black, white, and Mexican) are tired of it too... I would think that you as well must get
tired of living in a black vs white world all the time.
The saddest part is that by you bringing it up all the time, you instill the race issue in
younger people... so the racism will live on in them. When will it end? Young blacks and
white guys look up to you... so rather than promote the race issue, why not rise about it?
If you watch any of the interviews with Tiger... he shoots that crap down the moment it
comes up... not an issue with him... he won't let it be one. Very cool.
Let it go and rise above it Vince... and all of us... we all can do better here, not just Vince.

Second, the next time you ride your bike and get that mile wide grin because it's runnin' like a scalded dog, remember your redneck buddy who wrote the fuel map. He's the same guy that tried to save you $350 bucks. The one who tried to look out for his brother.
