They're faster.

Kawasaki Takes Vancouver Amp'd Mobile World Supercross GP with ease. "Bubba" throws his autographed jersey to the crowd above.

Kawasaki's James "Bubba" Stewart walked away unchallenged and victorious with a first place finish in Vancouver's BC Place Stadium for the 2nd stop in the 17-round Amp'd Mobile World Supercross GP. After a poor start, Suzuki's Ricky Carmichael could only watch as Stewart, aboard the new Kawasaki KX450F pulled away from the Suzuki rider and disappeared into the pack, lapping almost all of the competition in the process. As Stewart's assault on the slower riders continued, Carmichael sat an easy 1/2 lap behind the race leader, unable to catch the faster Kawasaki machine. Carmichael managed to reduce Stewart's 12 second lead to 7.4 seconds by the end of the 20 lap race, but obviously it was not enough. Yamaha's Chad Reed followed in third.

Bikeland.org visited with Kawasaki's racing team, and had an exclusive tour of their facilities. The mood was calm and focused as designers and engineers from KMC Irvine and KHI Japan compared notes.

Kawasaki's John Ewert stressed that the lessons from the development of Stewart's KX450F are passed on to the consumer, and that the machines ridden in the series share much of their componentry with the stock KX450F's available from local dealers.

The Amp'd Mobile World Supercross Series' next stop is in Anaheim, California January 7, 2006. For more information visit http://supercross.cc.com.

Good start by Stewart negated any chance that Carmichael had? If you read what http://www.cyclenews.com/ShowStory.asp?HeadlineID=8555 had to say, Stewart had the 2 hopefuls by 9 seconds already by the end of the second lap. Bubba proved last week that he's there to play the game.

I'm starting to wonder if Carmichael ain't think'n of already going back to his 250??

If you watched the Toronto race on Speed and listened to the comments from Carmichael and Stewart, the Vancouver result is no surprise.
Bubba is going to elevate the sport, how long Ricky can keep up is the only question left.

NOPE The kawi didn't do shit.... IT'S ALL BUBBA... nobody can ride like BUBBA!!!

Ever see him scrub a jump?? Rather than leap high in the air, which wastes time,
he throws the bike down on the ground right as he hits the jump... goes straight across
the jump with the bike on it's side... and right as it goes to touch down, he yanks
the bike back upright!!!!

Don't believe me??? Is that a great shot or what???

I think he'll go down as the best MX rider to ever live...

In the 125 class, he broke EVERY record set by all the best... now he's doing the 250's
Stand back and watch out... he's awesome.

I have to agree with Jere. Not that Kawa isn't helping with a good product but James would be fast on most any bike IMO.

Well, the diff here is that he SMASHED their records... other than that, he's just an
ordinary rider...

And...

He's the ONLY rider IN THE WORLD that can scrub a jump... everyone is trying
to figure out how to do it... but NOBODY has yet.

So besides being fast as hell... he invented a whole new WAY to ride... that puts him
in a whole new league...

I equate him more to "Tiger Woods" than Michael Jordan because of the Make up of the "Usual" Particpants Just like in Golf or Arthur Ashe in Tennis. To me, the #1 thing he is doing that is the most Difficlut is "Making his Dad Proud"! We all know how hard that is!!

Vince .. you equate him to Tiger Woods instead of Michael Jordan because Jordan is too tall.

NO Kidding! I think when they dropped Drag Racing and Rickey Gadson so they could pay him the 4 to 5 Mil I heard (Who knows how much), I think they decided right there and then to hold on for good. Also, the Old Man is into Kawasaki's which helps them have a edge.

I know I am going to hear "IT" from "OTIS" on this one, but Kawasaki seems to be the factory that is breaking the "Color" Barrier in Motorcycle Racing first with Rickey and now James. All I am waiting for is a Fast Black Road Racer (Again ) and Kawasaki Back him / her
