The new Bimota Delirio

Weird name. Maybe it's a sticker on the back that can be peeled off, instead of painted on.

Incidentally, it's pretty well worked out at various places how to get somewhat more out of this mill than this, so the power output situation is not as poor as it sounds though of course it won't reach Japanese (or for that matter, MV Agusta) superbike levels.

BTW, imagine the howls if Kawasaki had put cans and a tail like this on the 2006 ZX-10R?

From MCN:

Bimota has launched its new naked bike at the Milan bike show.

The 1000cc DB6 Delirio is based on the DB5 superbike with a Ducati engine and trelis frame and swingarm, but it gets high bars and new styling.

Although the bike looks very similar to the fully faired bike it isn't just a DB5 with the fairing removed. The tank and tail unit are an all new design with the stylish triangular underseat pipes finishing it off.

There isn't much provision for the pillion and Bimota have even made the rear footpegs removable simply with a key.

At the front end the bike gets 50mm Marzocchi forks with a Titanium Nitride coating and twin 320mm disks with 4-piston, 4-pad radial calipers.

The bike weighs in at 170kg and puts out 90bhp at 8500rpm with 65ftlb of torque.

MH900e meets Falco - I kida like it.

Very visually appealing bike, lotsa contrasting features - I really like the swing arm.

Claimed dry weight for the similar-but-more-faired DB5 is 345 lb, so that's a reasonable estimate for this one or it could be just a little less due to a little less bodywork.

It won't be fast except maybe in fairly tight stuff (due to such light weight), as it doesn't have a great deal of power.

Myself I don't particularly care for the bodywork, but the swingarm and frame are gorgeous.
