It just occurred to me (obvious idea of course) that if Kawasaki wanted to make a pretty powerful little Twin, half a 636 motor could put a few over 50 hp to the rear wheel... That could be pretty cool.
Don't know what the Ninja 250 does but it doesn't do near that (and of course is a 250 not a 318.)

The part that I've never quite understood is why in this day and age of new riders and higher insurance rates why Kawi doesn' update the US EX250?? It's silly and it's stupid..just poor marketing.

And yes it's a 4 cylinder.

The main reason is because it keeps selling out every year. It really does make sense. Example, my wife bought one last spring to learn to ride on. Now she wants to move up and also get newer technology, so she's probably going to go with the new Ninja 650. So kawasaki gets a win-win. Also you can buy a new one for under $3,000 which Kaw can keep a low price because there is no R & D costs involved. It really is a good deal for smaller newer riders and Kaw.

I could understand that if we were talking the KLR 650 simply because "it is what it is"
I have a 14 yr old boy that's going to enter the market next summer and I don't plan on buying an EX........ It's just dated and not in a good sense. We're gonna take the road of the reintroduced KLX250 S!! When it come's to 250 sport bikes he'll have his choice of a couple that sit in the garage.
Lets hope for Kawasaki's sake the EPA Nazi's don't release their strangle hold on America and the importation laws that apply. Kawi won't be selling squat with these available......along with a couple of other nice units. Yes it does pass the Euro 2 emission standards. I'm brand loyal but only to a point.

That's definately sharp, but definately more then $3,000 and probably quite costly if it gets dropped on its side (which alot of newbies will do)
