i beleive we rode right by the east end of the road on the way back from laguna, but i don't _think_ we actaully hit that road itself. hopefully fish or princesskiwi or dvsfzr1000 may remember better.

Dino and I rode a road nearby, Titlow road, which I found enjoyable but Dino hated,LOL.
I would like to do this one next time I get down there, hopefully next September.

I was out on 7 level (see pics above) right after it had been repaved a few years ago - I think that God went riding on the eight day and this is the road he made for it.

PK and I have ridden that... it's the "FOrks of Salmon" highway... I'll see if I can dig up some photos..
If I remember correctly the first bit is good (east to west) ... but then it's a one lane logging road and you have to honk around each corner and look out for oncoming trucks etc.
Dino thought it was great, but Dino thought several roads on our last trip were "awesome", and the whole riding group thought Dino needed to have his level of meds increased drastically.

Yes that is the forks of Salmon Road!
Lost Coast Hiway is another good side trip in the same general area.

Now that you mentioned it, Hwy 74 from Palm Desert is really good. Did you try the section of 74 from Hemet to Idelwild?

Oh maybe a 100 times, more or less, nice ride. If you are coming to that area be sure to do 243 the Panorama Hwy from Idylwild.
