Could this be the next big Adventure?

Since returning from South America, I have been trying to convince Sagot that Africa should be our next big trip... he is less convinced. But I figure that if I want to hit every continent with a bike, I need to get the most challenging ones out of the way sooner rather than later..... Then I saw this....
http://www.enduroafrica.com/enduroafrica/home.htm

Obstacles to overcome:
1)Raising $10,000+. This would definitely be a challenge since all my friends, family and aquaintances know how much fun Sagot and I had in South America and are jealous.
2) The fact that the trip is only 14 days and I would want to spend at least a month or maybe two
3) Sounds like it would be a "group ride", which I really can't stand

But.... sounds like a good cause. From what I can tell, Africa needs all the help it can get, especially aid in a form that can't be pilfered by corrupt heads of state from the hands of those who most need it most. On the surface, this seems like it could be a good avenue to do so..... anyone heard of these guys and this project, or the previous India project they did?

africa strikes me as even more dangerous to ride thru than south america, but i suppose as part of a group ride with such a cause, it would probably be about as safe as u can make it.

South America wasn't dangerous... downtown Vancouver is dangerous!!! Seriously, parts of S. America give other parts of S. America a bad name but mostly everywhere we were was very safe, or the biggest challenge were the elements (as opposed to the people). Africa is a very big place and I am certain the same holds true there- there are places you would be ill-advised to go and other places where you might be treated like royalty. Its all a matter of doing your homework....
