West Coast Dyno Shoot-out - More Pix & Finals

Another beautiful day at the Queen Mary event park in Long Beach, CA. Jardine Dyno Show operated by Area P. We ran 84 bikes over a 2 day period. Lot's of Turbos - Busas, ZX-12, H-D's. 12 classes in all. Some pix and class winners. My ZX10 was second in 1000 Sportbike at 160.7 hp. At least I lost to someone with an Area P exhaust

John Noonan, who did 545 hp last year on his Busa, has his tranny locked up in 3rd gear, so it was just overpowering the drum and spinning. He "settled" for 339 this year. He ran El Mirage in the morning and did 217 mph. He'll be going for a new all out two wheel record later this year at Bonneville on some twin busas turbo powered streamliner at over 400 mph. Incrediable.... John was also telling us that the current dyno record holder (forgot his name) at 700 +, is going for 1000 rear wheel hp soon..... Impressive of course, but it's a purpose built dyno bike only as I understand it.

The turbo bikes were all over the place. We had a Turbo Buell at 152, the completely undialed ZX12 at 227, Busa's from 240 to 298 (but they were real street bikes).

H-D Sportster - Bennet's Performance - 120
H-D - 74 - 80ci - Joe Kay - 110
H-D - 81 - 88ci - Bennets Performance - 113.9
H-D - 89 - 95ci - Bryan Uyema - 106.9
H-D - 96 - 113ci - Bruce Ranyard - 119.3
H-D - 114ci plus - Paul Morris - 181.7
600 Sportbike - ZX636 - Steve Prouty - 102.9
750 Sportbike - GSXR750 - Chris Gramm - 127.9
1000 Sportbike - GSXR1000 - Tony Pina - 162.2
Open Sportbike - Busa - Ray Garofano - 203.8
Turbo/Nitrious H-D - Eastside Performance - 283.7
Turbo Sportbike - John Noonan - 339.0

John Noonan - El Mirage - 217 mph Sunday morning. 339 hp Sunday afternoon.

Turbo ZX12 - 227 hp

Your's truly - 2nd place loser at 160.7 hp

59,000 mile ZX9 call "Kawasexy" (only in Long Beach...). 126 hp. Long Beach inlet in the back ground

Standing room only. 300 - 400 people through-out the day

Supercharged H-D. 89 hp. Definetly had some problems....

Turbo Buell - 152 hp

Making sure John Noonan's animal is strapped down tight on the drum. Bikeland shirt shot for you Fish...

My dyno helpers holding back a XR50 while I lay the hammer down. A whopping 1.9 hp

Looking bored while being told by the ZX12 Turbo owner how to warm up his bike.... Actually John C. is a friend of mine and I've been dynoing his bikes for years. He brought 5 Turbo bikes to the show 3 H-D's, and 2 Sportbikes. This year I only blew up one of them...

Another ZX9 with custom AP exhaust that my son made for him. 29000 miles - 126 hp

Billet CNC awards from Jardine. Black anodized this year. About 8 lbs. Very cool Trophy for the class winners. Scott Rousseau from Cycle News in the background. Hired Scott to help with the MC duties so I could run all the bikes.

I was a lil disappointed with my lowly 150 - mebbe I should get the 15k/valve adjust done early?

Nice ta see the 05 Gixx 1k put up the winning # with your slip-on too.
