Live from Fox Hill at MotoGP Laguna Seca

As crowds decend upon Monterey, California and the surrounding areas, American race fans are poised to catch a glimpse of the fastest riders in the world for tomorrow's MotoGP. Spectarors began to trickle in as early as Tuesday. All though DORNA estimated upwards of 150,000 people in attendance, traffic in and out of the track seemed conspicously light ... as many people wondered exactly 'where' the 150,000 people were...

It seems as though they are coming... The entire track, Foxs Hill included , is building to a fevered pitch. Bikeland and Labusas members in attendance have come from as far away as Florida, Windsor and Texas .

Who will win tomorrw's race is anyone's guess, but we will make sure we are one of the first to update you as we watch and report on the race from the Kawasaki suite!

That's all from the Mecca of Motorcycle racing... we're off to drink beer and stand around the camp fire... Why aren't YOU here???

I have more fun riding than sitting on a hill with a bunch of beer drunk morons arguing about the deficiencies of riders whose underwear they are not fit to carry. THAT'S why I'm not there.

You do have a good point.

I was there Friday & Saturday. Had to come home Saturday night..... Client moved up a deadline and needed help. Customer's needs always come first. Especially with a new biz.

Enjoy the races!

I would have loved to be there. But I was in Mexico City, and then Washington DC. BUT I was able to catch the race on the Speed Channel. I am a Rossi fan, but I really was happy to see Nicky win. He really put in a great ride. I am also of the Kenny Roberts era, and I just loved the retro Yamaha graphics, way cool.

For me, it was worth the 70 hours of driving. Even if I don't drink.

bovine seems to have a problem with anyone that uses their bike as a street bike. Which is how I use mine. Anyway he doesn't know what he is missing, It is a ton of fun getting together with friends at Laguna. I have done it several years, and enjoy myself immensely.

Sorry, I just can't watch other people having fun. The whole fan/spectator/wait in line thing is lost on me. I'm glad you guys had fun. It just isn't my thing. Maybe when I get too old to do it myself.

Fan? What was funny was while I was checking out Attack Kawasaki's paddock, Ben Attard started to walk over to me to talk. I just nodded to him, basically saying, "Dude, I don't want to talk to you... I just want to see how Attack sets up their paddock". He just turned and went back into the trailer. I will admit that it was nice seeing and even talking with some former CMRA riders like Edwards, the Haydens, Spies, Haner , etc. At least we have something in common to talk about.

Waiting in line? That part I think I missed. Maybe when I crossed one or two of the bridges. but it was an issue of a few minutes... nothing more .

Spectator? Can say much there. Being the manager/wrench for CMRA endurance and sprint riders... I guess that I'm always a "spectator". This has been my second AMA event and first MotoGP. My last AMA event was the season ender double header at Barber a few years ago.

Next year, we've been talking about going out there to try and get one of our team's rider to quailify in the Superstock class. We might not make it, but we'd have a damn good parking spot. Of course, no matter if we qualified or not, I'd still be a "spectator". Actually, I wouldn't even be that. I wouldn't have time to "watch". I'd be too busy working on the bike. Just like I am at all the other races I go to.

Though not racing myself, looking at it from our riders viewpoint, one short changes one's self to restrict themselves to merely "club racing" and miss the chance to hang out with riders that have moved on to the next levels. Watching guys that I work with talk to riders like Spies, becaused they raced against him just a few years ago is kinda fun, from a "spectator" perspective... of course.

Been there, done that. I have a new focus. Lap times. Hence the 10R. Please understand, I really do appreciate you guys hunching over the clipons on the freeway just so I can afford this level of technology. Thank you so very, very much.

Jesus H. Christ, talk about being an elitist prick. That kid could have given you enough info in a 5 minute chat up to write 50 pages of your naive, moronic, "how I learned what a brake line is," rambling, semi-accurate bullshit. Oh, was that a little harsh? Never mind.

Naw, that ain't too harsh. Your just callin' a spade a spade. I'm comfortable in my own skin and riding skill level, albeit rather slow.

If I was interested in such a conversation (again, from a mechanic's view point, he had little to share or enlighten me with), I was content to have it with the others, such as Spies. At least they didn't crash out. Plus, I doubt if his brake line knowledge would far exceed my own. He rides (and crashes) while someone else wreches and put the pieces back together so he can ride again.

BTW, where can we check out your lap times/finish results for the season?

Oh yeah... rambling ... you betcha.

semi-accurate bullshit... Ah, ah, ah... don't show your ignorance so boldly. It's not becoming. When I show my ignorance, I do it by quoting knowlegable sources (i.e. the manufacturer of the lines). Which BTW, while at Laguna Seca, I got to visit a while with both Jason of Gafler and Todd of Calsportbike. Nice and knowledgable folks.

Fuck off, loser! Where were you anyway. The Kawi tent was so lame. It so desperately needed your feminine touch.
