Bikeland's Charity Raffle Benefits Spinal Cord Research

West Vancouver, BC- Bikeland.org held a charity raffle to benefit Spinal Cord Research and support the Rick Hansen "Man in Motion" Foundation. The Rick Hansen "Man in Motion" Foundation supports Spinal Cord research to aid in a cure for those who have suffered spinal cord injuries.

The Rick Hansen foundation had this to say about Rick...

"Rick Hansen epitomizes "determination". In the summer of 1973, Rick was a free-spirited, athletic fifteen year old who had a life altering automobile crash that left him a paraplegic. Although he could no longer walk, Rick could dream and he became a world-class athlete, winning 19 international wheelchair marathons, including three world championships and competed for Canada in the 1984 Olympic Games.

In the spring of 1985, he embarked on a bigger dream and wheeled the circumference of the earth to raise awareness and funds for spinal cord injury. Two years and 40,000km later, Rick and his team returned to Vancouver, B.C., having raised over $26M."

Through a link on Bikeland.org's website, $200 in tickets were sold with the chance to win a Muzzy Titanium Slip on exhaust for a 2004/05 Kawasaki ZX-10R, a Bikeland Long Sleeve Shirt, a Bikeland T-Shirt, and a Bikeland Beanie.

The draw was held at Sorrento's Pizza in West Vancouver BC. Sorrento, standing in front of his 2004 Hayabusa, drew the winning prizes.

The prize winners are...

Bikeland Beanie.... ....... kbryant
Bikeland T-Shirt... .... ninja
Bikeland Long Sleeve... ..... avdigigeek
Muzzy Exhaust... .... dwb

Bikeland would like to thank all of those who gave to this important charity. As mentioned, 100% of the money brought in goes towards the charity. Every penny.

Bikeland looks forward to future charity draws, and we count on your participation to help support this cause.

many thanks to all who took part, especially those who didn't even have a 10R or already had a pipe, but supported the cause anyway.

If I would have won the grand prize, I would have just donated it back to bikeland...

On the topic of videos, when will you have the next volume of the BANNED cd finished for the 2006 insight...I might have to ride up there to BC to see it this time!
