Bye bye Mr. Zed

Well, I did it...

Traded in the ZZR for a Sprint ST.

Differences?

Umm..The ST feels like a 600 compared to the Zed. So much lighter...

Seat is way more comfortable than the Zed, but pegs are kinda small.

Triple sounds cool, and I'll never have to worry about a cold seat (undertail exhaust).

Single sided swingarm looks hella cool.

Love the passing light switch.

Biggest diff is the weight. Feel that immediately when turning in. Shorter wheelbase doesn't hurt either. Now to get it broken in before I head down for Laguna...

Careful, you might get called an 'old guy'

Honestly, its a hoot. Very comfortable, yet competent through the curves.

Wow, just did the first oil change today...

The drain plug and filter are at the BACK of the motor.

That means, with the bike up on the centerstand, it's easy to just reach under with a wrench and undo the drain plug. No fairing removal required. Nice!

Yep, did just fine. Mind you, I rode the bike back to Manteca, then grabbed alla the rest of the stuff and trailered back up from there. 12.5 hours on I5 to get home, not bad.

Took a blue one for a spin while I was down in TN visiting Mom and Pop. Reeeealy nice. Not sure on the swinging saddlebags though. I could definately own one. Good low/midrange. Kept you from wanting to wring it out. May hafta try a Futura now. I'd like something with hard bags. Been considering a ZZR, .....you like it that much better, eh?

Rode a Rocket 3 also. Had the accessory pipes on it. Fun but not my cup 'o tea.

The bags piss me off so bad I'm getting rid of the bike. I'd rather go with no bags than these crappy motherfuckers...

They're as floppy as your ... hat, Freek! Weak in every respect. Thin plastic that easily deforms with any weight in the bag. Poor stays that pop off and let the bag flop all the way open, spilling the contents down on the ground. Latching system that you have to use the key to operate, turning it into a two handed operation....Feh...Crap...Utter crap.

...I hear that the Ulysess bags are German Hepco bags....supposed to be quality bags...unlike the bags on the Tiger whree you're not supposed to exceed 97mph with the bags mounted, the Ulysess has no speed limit cap with the bags...I think it had something to do with aerodynmics????

Well that's nice. I was all set to to pull the trigger on one. Test rode one on the way down to DG10 while the 12 was getting mapped. Loved the bike. Didn't have bags on it though. How'd the suspension feel to ya? I thought it was on the plush side.

It is plush. but very well balanced. So both ends are doing the same thing at the same time.
