wormy goes middle-age crazy

...well tomorrow's the big FIVE OH for me..and I get to be my own parade with a morning ride on the coast on my super-sano 15K mile '95 Electra Glide Classic equiped with what possibly are all the bells and whistles available from the factory for that model year...

...I've always wanted a big-inch Harley ever since I heard that potato-potato-potato sound of the old HPD motor cops in Hawaii and knew what I was listening to circa 1967...by 1977 I promised myself that I'd get one one day, but I wasn't too keen on the AMF HDs back then (my '75 Z-1 and '76 KZ-900 LTD kept me amused in the meantime)...fast forward to 1987 and still no HD, but I bought an '89 FZR1000...faster forward (heh heh ) to 2001 and my mighty '00 ZX-12R and still no HD...slow forward to the fall of 2004 and my unfortunate fall (pun) from a nasty incident on my 11-mile '04 ZX-10R...as I recovered from my injuries, I promised myself that I'd somehow get an HD for my 50th birthday...and definitely before I couldn't ride a motorcycle again...

...May 14th, 2005 and my wonderful fiance helped make this dream possible and I want to publicly thank her here, at bikeland.org, for the wonderful birthday present...I turn 50 years-old tomorrow and I finally have my Harley Davidson motorcycle and I'll be riding the Southern California Coast to celebrate my half-a-century on this planet...THANKS, RUSTY!!!!...you're the best!

(now if only Kawasaki would make a ElectraGlide-type bagger out of the V2000, I'd probably be there, too!)

Sound famliar I did the same thing when I turned 49 two years ago. I got a great deal on an 2001Electric GLide Classic you know the one with the saddle bags, trunk, radio, arm rest for the passanger seat.
Getting to the point, the wife hated it, it was too hot for her and she use to ride with her feet up on the saddlebags. It did not fit style of riding (was'nt real stable over 90) so I got rid of it.
Best of luck
Bye the way I am real happy with my 2004 zx12r with an ARATA pipe.
