Drywall dust sucks, but not as bad as concrete dust.

Get a vacumm sanding pad, 90%of the dust will be picked up by it.
And dont do such a lousy job of applying the mud and you wont be sanding so much,LOL.

ozzy brings up a good point.....you think it's bad now....just wait until the sanding begins......we did our main floor a few years ago, not fun......been putting off doing the upstairs.....my tip of the day: just fill the tub up with body lotion and jump in.

uh.... Joy... I am "in the sanding process"... and Ozzy... nice try but it;s not my first crack at this.... even with minimal mud, sanding down 1200 sq ft of building sucks. period. as fer the vacuum sanding pad... dunno if it would work on this scale. I'll look into it.

Ozzy is right. If you do it right, there will be almost no sanding. Never fill screw/nail holes past flush. when dry, they will have shrank back, re-fill flush again. When taping seams, use a 6" knife and use just enough mud to cover the tape. When dry, feather out with 8" knife, then again with 10" and 12" after drying respectively. Lightly scrape the wall between coats with the drywall knife to knock off the high spots. While this method sounds like a lot of work, going over it several times, it goes very quickly and I basicly never have to sand. Use fans to speed up drying times.

uh.... thanks for the info, however the "no sanding" thing is only okay if the walls and joints are even...
in our case they are not... there are many different levels to blend.
