Vulcan2000 Touring rig

...hey XL!...doncha' think that a twin-shocked model of the Vulcan2000's platform would make a great HD FLH-platform fighter?...more power, more torque, better suspension...

...Kawasaki could have a series of Vulcan2000s that would out ST, out FX, and out FL the HD competition...

...$30K Screaming Eagle HD FatBoy???...hell, Kawasaki could hi-perf the Vulcan2000 engine, add meaningful parts, somehow lighten it up, call it the Sumo, retail it for $16K, and eat that FatBoy up!!!!...

...HD has their RoadGlide....Kawasaki can have their LoadGlide....HA!..."L-o-a-d-Glide!!!"...get it???...man, Kawasaki should hire me to their ad team...

How about just giving the 2005 Vulcan Nomad 1600 another 20 hp? ? ? ? ?
That would make it an FLH beater.
Or did Kawi figure out how Harley builds big engines with no hp?
No wait, they couldn't have, because Harley has a parts counter full fo stuff to increase the power of their bikes.
About time for Kawi to figure this out, a few overpriced chrome pieces doesnot make a performance parts catalogue.
The 2005 1600 Nomad is a great looking bike. Nice fit setting on it in the showroom (no demo rides). 67 crank hp (dealers info, hand written on dealer show info sheet, not published Kawi specs)sucks.
Why in the heck doesnt 1600 cc's of engine make more than 67hp???? 80-85 is not asking to much. Hondas 1800 VTX makes right at the 100 mark.
Closer to perfect BUT not yet. still its one way cool cruiser, may even find a way into my garage this year.
Hmmm, maybe I should shove that old green 12R out the back door to make room. . . . . .

u know, taht really is a good point. why don't cruisers make more power? the RC51 puts some 125hp to the rear wheel out of a mere 1000cc of vtwin. it seems even a greatly de-tuned 1600 should be able to put out over 100hp without trying. what gives?

...the Vulcan2000 has prodigeous(sp?) power and torque for a 2000cc V-Twin...too bad the whole bike is so damned heavy for mere mortals...I'm a mere mortal and I remember being very aware of its heft picking it up off of its sidestands and parking lot turning speeds...still, an awesome and fun bike for those who can adapt to its heft and ergonomics (ie. 6'+/200lbs+ human species)...well, at least it won't get blown all over the place on the windswept highways...(I think )

They want to be left alone ...... The thought of " I could have ridden a sport bike and really enjoyed this road " would hurt their feelings and the thoughts fo regret that we all get when we get too old to ride something fun ..... hahaha
