Does anyone Ride??????

The top of the forum say's SPORTBIKE ZONE but I don't see any topics with the heading..........
Just went for a ride or Who want's to go for a group ride. Or hey how bout this Let's get a group ride organised.

PEOPLE ITS FRICKEN MARCH it's like 60 degrees out!!!!!!!!!! I went for a lil 90km ride it was awesome saw a couple of sportbikes but mostly tracktors just rode coquitlam to mission via lougheed hwy. a few spits of rain but mostly dry roads. anyway....
I just was looking down the list of topics and sure a few of them were bike related and I know there's other things to talk about than bikes but it seems like it's just a group of people that just talk about riding. I know its really early in the year but I'm hoping this year will be one of meeting more of you and on two wheels.
I met fish pk freek sassy v cowboy, photogirl you guys were great.... and mabey it's because I was away for a year but when I come on to the site it's a lot of negative shit or people venting it's healthy I know but this is Fricken Bikeland not air you political views because that just causes conflict and I'm sure there are plenty of sites out there for that specific field and I'm guilty of it too by participating in a few of the threads in smackhouse and I think it just stirs up shit or I'm right your fucking wrong bs. Most Forum type places ask you to not post about religeous /political views if that's not what the forum/website is about and this Website is supposed to be about Bikes is it not?
but then I guess where all or mostly adults and it's good to be able to talk to other adults about adult shit and listen to people from around the world about their view etc.... So what's my point? I don't know .......I forgot lwhere I was going with this anyway had a nice ride today...........Hey what's that behind you...................................

I went for a ride on Saturday . My first of the season but some people have been out for about a month already.I hooked up with a couple of friends( another ZX-10 and a RC-51) we putted around the city(100 + kms) .The roads in Edmonton still have some rocks from the winter ice patrols and are a wee bit cold but not to bad once your tires heat up. On a sour note my buddy with the ZX-10 had a rock go through his rad on his way back home. I guess thats a thing that can happen at anytime of year.

hey j, i bin ridin plenty, but just commuting basically, what with the coldish weather and occasional ice and gravel/dust covered roads

as to organizing rides, i know what you mean but i honestly doubt we'll ever have much of that happening on bikeland. bikeland is not a regional site, so our members are spread out all over the world. this makes it hard to organize anything but big trips like Deals Gap and laguna. BCSB is great for hookin up with others for a short local ride, but not much else (imho)

as to talkin politics and things non-religion... i know what u mean about it causing some negative vibes, but the reality is it's good stuff to talk about because it exposes peopel to more ideas and subconciously that exposure tends to breed acceptance or at least tolerance. besides, if people just talked bikes, this would be a pretty boring place. most folks would not hang around long. however we are starting to try to keep things more focused within forums. finally, consider the season. bike related talk will just start picking up more now that riding season is comin on for most folks. bout time too!

There is still snow on the groud where I live (Western PA). The streets are bare, but have far too much gravel & assorted crap on the roads to consider riding. But, there are always exceptions. Saw a older Harley guy out yesterday. He had on his safety bandana which matched his new mid life chariot.

Check back in about 6 weeks

Thanks for not flaming me guys......Like I said it's really early in the year and this site is great for discussions but it's just the negativity of some of the threads from the get go.
No one's been really hateful or anything but I read a lot of USA this Canada that. The two places in the world that I love are Vancouver, B.C. and All of California (well except Bakersfield) We both have our problems and as far as people go I had the best time trucking up and down the I-5 meeting all kinds of people from Mexican factory/farm workers to just regular ol americans in resturaunts, I almost moved my family to San Francisco cus it was such a nice place Regardless I do love it here in Vancouver, B.C. but If I could make the same money in So Cal I would jump at it. It would either be San Diego so I could hang with worm hole and the boys in blue or mabey huntington beach....My sister lives there or possibly Victorville so I could set land speed records in the desert . All in all these are two great countries to live in. There's negative stuff going on no matter where you live..... As for me I come to this site to get away from it and talk to all of you. Well I'm glad to hear people are out riding and I wouldn't think it's boring to read about you ride I know even a trip to the store on my R6 is something I don't take for granted and enjoy every second of it. So let's gear up and hit some corners cus spring is on its way!!!!!!!!

i'll second that notion! the only time i've ever not enjoyed ridin the bike is when i got caught in snow with my street tires once. man that sucked. oh, and anytime it rains hard of course. even the clear -8C days are enjoyable. that's a good thing since my 12r is my all-season grocery-getter as well as my toy FYI, u can't fit much groceries in a backpack, and u cant ride very fast with a bag of garbage dangling off ur pack full of recyclables either, jsut in case anyone was wondering.

Been riding all winter down here by the "other Vancouver". We have had fantastic weather for riding motorcycles, but this winter absolutely sucks if you are into any winter sports.

tell me about it! at least it's still better up here. i talked to some skiiers from oregon a week ago and they were telling me how there's NO snow on the hills there. most have been closed all season. skiing here may suck too, but at least we're still open, and alot of the easterners still think the snow is FANTASTIC! man, i'd hate to see what one of them east coast ski hills is like even in a good year.

Beans- it is in a neighborhood in Vancouver, WA where they put in speed bumps to control traffic, but decided to call them "speed humps".
