The Dead Zone
Well for those of you (in BC) that missed this event that Ted Blow and Tom Timmerman put on (www.dualsportbc.com) this past weekend, you must be kicking yourselves.
About 40 of us rode about 250km of forest roads, dual-track and single-track in the area bordered by Lillooet, Spences Bridge and Cache Creek. Something for everyone with A, B, and C - level routes.
I hate the term, but this was truly a 'world-class' event. Unbelievable that they even put on a barbeque afterwards; our $25 entry wouldn't even have covered their roll-chart printing and chainsaw costs.
When they announce the date for next year's event, just sign-up. It's a no-brainer must-do event!

I may be dual sporting again. Negotiating a deal for a beat up DR350 on Saturday and if I get it, I'm putting the Honda on consignment.
The DR needs some TLC but if everything goes right, I can get it for $1500, sell the XR650L for at least $2500 and use the difference for a new shock,spring and fork springs. Plus a front tire. Anyone got a used good dual sport 21" for sale?

I thought you'd get more for the XR than that. Couldn't strike a deal with that Dmitri guy for his 350?
Maybe see you at the Fort tonight?

Haven't even tried. He's way out on his $3700 asking price. I wouldn't even ask that much for my 650. Actually, I didnt pay that much for the 650 and that's when it looked like a fairly new bike. It looks slightly used now! 1 shop asked me if I'd been to Baja on it....ha ha haha......I wish!
Either way, DR or XR, screw it, I'm going on the Routledge run. Probably motel it, if I can remember the name of the only motel in Tulammeen.
