Green and yellow???

If everything pans out, the XR650L will be gone this weekend and an 01 DRZ-400E thats streetable will be taking it's place. The bike is yellow......puke! Does anyone know how much the green graphics package from Kawaski for the KLX400 costs? I priced out a full graphics package for the XR650L and it would have been close to $200 Canadian!!!!!!!

Also, judging by the pics of this particular DRZ, it's streetable if you live in the country. Also wondering if anyone has connections with Baja Designs as to ride it around a populated area, I may have to make it really streetable with high/low beam etc. I've got some parts from other bikes, like brake light switches and turn signals so I'm wondering if Baja Designs sells individual parts or you have to buy the whole kit?

I'm also wary of the E model not having a cooling fan. These are easily bought at wreckers etc, but would I place the fan behind the engine? I dont think theres enough room behind the rad and still be able to do a full steering lock.

Welcome to DRZ's Bill. Just had my S model for under a month. You should be very happy with the E - better carb, gearing, suspension, compression & cams, and a plastic tank.

I tried to by an E from the Shuswap area but was getting the run around....

look at www.trickdualsport.com - they have neat stuff and I heard that if you call & ask, they'll sell individual bits.

The shift lever on the 400 is stupidly short, I bought an extended one from Baja Designs - shipped to Blaine in three days!

Obviously you're on Thumpertalk...shop at their store / link with White Brothers for lots of goodies.

Oh and regarding the fan - mine came on for me a few times yesterday while I was bogging in the McNutt trails. Agree that it's a tight fit on the S models, don't know if one would work on yours...look at one of ours & measure up.

Since the best rad guards made for these bikes are from Unabiker, and they don't differentiate between models except to specify that they work on the 'S' (fan & horn); I interpret that as a good sign that you should be able to fit a horn in.

PM or call me if you want to see mine...Otherwise I'll hopefully see you at breakfast on the 13th.

www.valleymotosport.com

Click on used bikes, off-road. Some bastid walked in with cash and no trade in yesterday and bought it. At least Valley let me know before I trucked the bike up today. They had lowered the price on it too.

If you're ever up in the Okanagan and need stuff, these guys are good. Barry the owner is the kind of guy that gives you deals and treats customers well.

Easy come, easy go. I'll keep looking around.

Bill - Theres a very decent 2000 E available in Salmon Arm - he's on ThumperTalk as Gibber1967. Also advertised in the Buy&Sell last week I believe.

All the right mods - don't know if it's priced right for you though...

1 of these days, I'll figure out who the hell you are squiddly. I thought I knew and now I'm not so sure. thanks for the tip, I'll look him up.

Bill at 5th Gear, has/had an 01 E for sale. Not sure if I want it after he's ridden it...LOL! At least I'll know there's no carbon build up.
