...hey Mr Extremelean...why not put a very legible digital speedo on the new 12R...something as formidable as this bike which is capable of exceeding any posted US speedlimit at will should've been equiped with one from the start...then some of our more rabid speed junkie enthusiasts wouldn't be in the trouble they're in cuz' they'd see their speed quicker and adjust acordingly in case the man made an appearance...

Good idea WH. Don't see it happening tho. Seems like some design elements (like instrumentation) get locked in for a long time on most Jap bikes. Course, they can always prove me wrong....

...the speedo/tach cluster still lacks...I (maybe 'WE') want a digital speedo w/ BIG DIGITAL readouts...BIG SWEEP NEEDLE-type tach w/programable shift light...clock, dual trip meters, ACCURATE fuel gage w/low fuel warning light, oil pressure and coolant temp...two aux. 12v outlets and enough watts from the stator to handle aux. elec. equip....like the big rigs, but make it fit on a sportbike...and a shit-yer-pants-loud-ass horn! ...maybe on the 2006 model...give enough time for the engineers to figure it out

Just look at the '04 R1. They did the guages right on that. As well as the exhaust.

I'd like to see oil TEMP guage too. I think oil temp is a better indicator of real-time engine condition than a oil pressure idiot light...

...how about an oil-pressure light/gage combo?...digital, or course...just make the gage face flash when its critical...everything electric and digital thin and lightweight with easy-to-read digital numbers...but leave the tach with a sweep needle passing large numbers cuz' our eyes/brains find that the easiest to register...
