Compression tester don't hold pression ????
Do a compression test on my zx-10r motor yesterday.
Well the pistons seem to built pression as the needle of the guage go up.....But the pressure don't stay. For example the pressure go up to 120 but it leak down to zero....WTF.
I re time the cams recently to 106-102 figure maybe I do an error there????
Or is that the symptom (pressure built but don't hold and go back to zero on the tester ?????) of a leak gasket or bad timing of some sort.
My understanding of guage is thet the guage just keep the highest pression the cylinder tested reach ??
The pression slowly go back to zero.
So I will check the valve adjustment and if it's not that I will put the cams on the stock timing to see.
Anybody got this experience before ?
1- Built up pressure on the guage
2- Pressure go down and don't hold
Yes I tried 2 different tester....same result.

there are a couple of conditions that may be possible... the schrader valve in the end of the tester is bad or you have a defective hose or leaky fitting.
What kind of compression tester are you using???
