ignition modules....are they really worth it? ((project blue balls))

i have a gen1 zx10r aka widow maker...already have power commander 3 and waiting on the quick shifter to come in the mail that i ordered
my question is the ignition module really worth it? alot of people i know around here locally send their ecu's out to get flashed to extend the rev limiter i heard with the ignition module you can extend it if you get in contact with dynojet in the future i plan on buying a nos mini progressive controller and GIXXER1300 spray bar setup for a 25-30 shot dry shot... i have the .50mm headgasket 3rd gen race camshaft (intake) and sending my head off to have GARTH do his voodooheadwork....any input or suggestion would seriously help...thank you
