Z1000 exhaust modification??
Hi team back again with some news, firstly though why is there not a Z1000 zone? you've got most of the other models in the Kawasaki line up covered.
Anyhow just to update anyone who's interested. I've now removed the "cat" from the exhaust of my 2010 model Z1000 there are three [3] of them in the collector where the 4into1joins the expansion box then splits into 2.[ I say expansion box as there seems to be no other reason for this in the exhaust. I figured that the "cats" would be in the box but they're not, the box is essentially empty, no baffling etc] although this has freed up the acceleration noticeably it only gained 0.5bhp on the Dyno.
The big thing is that with the freeing up of the exhaust flow she reaches peak horsepower a full second earlier than with the "cats" still in. Instant, effortless response to the throttle mid range and "Quicker" to reach full speed
It has changed the exhaust "note" but note by much, more noticeable on heavy acceleration
