Side stand issue
Hey guys,
I just purchased the 2nd edition to my stable recently. It's a sweet 06 ZX10R, near brand new. Kawi green.
I've already had a scare with the side stand. I parked the bike on a very tiny downslope and rested it on the side stand. I looked around for 1 second and luckily caught the new bike in the act of attempting to throw itself on the ground. Scared the crap out of me, it was rolling forward off the stand. It seems compared with my ZX14 that it doesn't sit very deep on the stand, allowing it to roll off the stand really easily. Has anyone noticed this also, and maybe have a fix for it? I thought about getting the dremel out and griding the stand a bit where it locks in.
While I'm at it, is there a list of "must do's" on these bikes?
Thanks for any help.

Hmmmm haven't heard of that one before gotta say. Make sure your turn the wheel so the bike will not roll forward on a down hill even a slight one thats what I do.

Hi - Always remember to put it in gear never leave it in neutral, and lock the steering column. Also, beware of freshly paved streets(they look great and are awesome to ride after but when they are fresh your stand can sink right in!,
I just picked up a beauty 2008 ZX10R and it has the stock stand but I'm used to my 2000 ZX12R stand that is cut so it also leans a lot more when I put it down. It actually feels safer(than the 10R), leaning more to the side than the stock setup. I wish it leaned just a little more personally
