Attention to details:
-this test was not completed on the same day (back to back testing)
relook at the dyno and check the humidity; humidity doesn't drop from a 14 to 11 of a few min of making a run.
BS flag is being waved

Even though the dyno numbers look kinda low for both bikes, it doesnt matter, zx10 and s1000r on the dyno, same time, zx10 wins, at least for the last 1k rpms, and its a pretty good margin the closer to the limiter they get. This is the first true comparison between the two bikes, unrestricted, that I have seen and looks legit.
Out powering the beamer at high rpm, where the beamer shines, and the new zx10 is lighter. We may have a winner after all.

If you look at the graph you'll notice that where the Horsepower drops off, the torque drops off also. A nice little intake cam will cure that hiccup along with a little boost of viagra to go along with it. I only compare the UK dyno and track test when it comes to these bikes only because of the restricted models that the US and Canada has received. In the UK these are standard off the floor stock models.

MCN said exactly what the graph shows,.. Lack of midrange drive compared to the BMW just does nothing to help the ZX10R but at the same time the acknowledge the big power up top. Kawasaki had plenty of time to fix that problem especially since the 3rd gen had the same issue! Degree the cams or replace one and it should be a handful on the street or track. I love that BMW and I'm sure its only going to get a lot better. The ZX10R in my opinion is a better bike than the BMW but the lack of midrange is the one thing that spoils the whole damn package!

Hi guys, check out my topic on zx 14.com - zx10r vs bm 1000r stock,it is a test we did on sunday morning here in South Africa, trust me dont worry about the dyno fig in the midrange for the zx,it it very fast from 3rd gear onwards, just pulls away from the bm with the ram air on the road.
