Not at all.
I am skeptical that the thing as even been neutered. Seriously. I think they are doing it to lower expectations and then blow away the BMW.
All I am saying is I am trying to keep an open mind.

Yeah, I'm sure those big cams and throttle bodies didn't add any power... ...
I don't think it is as complex as this thread is making it...

Maybe I just haven't followed a new bikes release as closely as the new 10's, or maybe the new 10's was more hyped than others? I don't know. Either way, I've never noticed this kind of censorship with videos, threads and posts on youtube and forums with other new bike releases like I have with the new 10. Maybe I'm more of a kawi guy at heart than I give myself credit for

I wasn't following it at all until I read about it here. I liked the way it looked. But I was dead positive Kawasaki would take it's usual approach and one up the horsepower. Then all the shit hit the fan.
I am a big time Kawasaki fan, I bleed green. I am just hoping this bike kicks ass. But I am afraid if it doesn't out hp the BMW it will die a fast death on the showroom floor. The main reason is the big price tag.

Ted, this bores me.
Have you ever admitting to agree with someone in your entire life? Even when you do agree? Or do you just veer off to keep arguing like you do here?

I thought we agreed about the fantastic hardware and the great potential of this machine?
That is what's important to me.
I do agree. Now veer off and bring up something off the main topic like you usually do.

I agree with you, I think it needs to at least equal the bmw hp wise to sell well after the HUGE hype kawi has built up for it. And I also agree with shane that it has the potential I think to out hp the bmw unrestricted. I'd buy one and derestrict it if I was in the market for a liter bike, but I'm not sure how many other folks are going to feel that way I've already seen price reductions for pre-orders on e-bay for new base model (non-abs) 10's, which would offset some of the cost of derestricting them. I think a factory rebate would go a long way toward helping sales against the bmw. Part of the problem is kawi hyped the 10 up so damn much, its almost like they didn't know about the restrictions till the last minute? There's such a thing as too much hype, especially when the bikes been restricted.

Good question - I'd be willing to bet case of beer on it -
Here's the deal. The 10R is NOT available to the public to test or ride. Kawasaki isn't letting anyone take it on a track unless they're authorizing it, and the fact that they strong-armed us into pulling down our video while leaving that sugarcoated video to stand should be indication enough that the video is nothing more than marketing pap.
Sure the guys riding the bikes may be normal track day dudes, but KHI is pulling the puppet strings and that's for sure.
Ahhh a good old Canadian bet.....
The ZX10r in the video is a Pre-production model that was delivered to a local dealer here in canada for testing, and the person who is in the video was allowed to test ride it, as he is good friends with the dealership owner, and the local race school operator.
The person who did the recording and the dyno used were from the shop Redline Motorsports here in calgary, an independent bike shop that caters to the racers around here in calgary. as a matter of fact the guy who borrowed the bike posted some pictures of him and the other people riding it around town and the track, but they got in trouble for it, and had to take the pictures down. all in all it isn't kawasaki pulling the strings, it is an independent, as you can see from the other videos on his youtube account.
to the response that it looks like a professional did it, it doesnt take much nowadays to use a home HD video cam and do it, the onbike shots can be done using a few GoPro Hero HD cameras, and editing can be done with IMovie or such programs.

Too funny. I think Ted and the rest of you anti-Kaw's needs to read the title of this thread and then start a new one about marketing.
Lets say Kawi has a winner here but the mags don't show it. How long before word gets out? You all put WAY to much into magazine/internet hype.
I love you Ted but getting into it with Shane is beyond you but it was suregreat reading. I have not laughed that hard in a while. I have never met a guy that has the exact same sense of humor as myself.
quote:So I'm ready to go on the record and state the video below is neither "independent" nor is it produced by "regular joes" as it claims - clearly based on the fact the Kawi has shit a brick over our REAL video which actually IS independent and WAS produced by regular joes, I call this video a fake. It's a shill. It's a weak attempt at viral marketing as outlined in their action plan.
If it was anything other than that, it would be in the Internet garbage can along with our independent video and any other free thought on the subject of this bike.
Our video lasted mere hours and logged 200 downloads before they pulled the pin - their real "independent" video has logged over 11,000 downloads and has been live for almost a week.
Enjoy the commercial in case you couldn't figure out it was one:
this was filmed here in calgary, alberta,
____________
Akro slip ons, Scotts Damper, Hel Brake & Clutch lines, Vortex Rearsets, Sato Frame Sliders, Power Commander, Custom Map, Flies Removed, BMC Race Filter, Marchenisi Rims, Corbin Seat, Ventura Pack Rack, Pazzo Levers, Zumo 550 GPS, Passport Radar Detector, Throttle Miester Cruise,
everyone knows that. The fact that it happened in the first place, coupled with the fact that it is online and truly "independent" videos have been compelled to be removed proves that the Calgary video is a marketing approved video by Kawasaki

I am going to stand on the carpet and be, Joe Lucas. Joe has gotten a bad rap because of the squids wiring up the parts. I've had Lucas parts go belly up no because of the part but the care of that part bye the previous owners. I want to know the odds when I've had 12 bikes of the same engine family go through my hands, start 4 of those basket bikes right up with 40 year old bulletproof Lucas parts; why did they all fire up? Lucky parts?
If I were Joe or Kawi, you bet my name would be the shout out there to ruin my marketing ploy; I sell Lucas parts that are 40+ years old and destroy my/his reputation, because some flagget stripped the bolts going back in the bike? And now call the bike a fit and finish shit-0-pile on your call?
YOU FLOUNDer flapping the dock with your lips a fly'inn with the scales stuck in a splinter. GEThe fuck UP and explain why that bolt has a 1/2" Sock Kit on the press kit package?

Second getting into it with Shane is admittedly futile, but I was just having some fun while I wait for fucking LINUX programs to compile. Boredom is a powerful motivator Got to help get the site interesting again after the attempted coup.
