Street Rumor: it'll fire like the '09 Yamaha but have electronics included that allows it to NOT take the 6 HP hit the R1 took up top
Steve's rumor: it won't turn better than the '88-09 and won't win anything significant in roadracing competition...any takers on this?

Hopefully a change to the conventional type frame...like all other manufactures who are capable of winning in roadracing. A beautiful specimen vs the ugly duckling. A more powerful engine. able to hold more gas. And Green is mandatory.

DogoZX, READ STEVE's RUMOR post above, I already mentioned KAWI would do this!
But beware of the new V4 HONDA or SAZOOK coming down the pike that will smoke all this cross-plank technology (and the APRILIA too)

Yeah I know the Big Bang is kinda old news, but I hadn't seen that clipping posted on BL yet. I'm certain most litres will be V4's in the near future. It would be cool if Kawi skipped the bang and went straight to the V. We'll just have to wait and see.

Aftyer uncorking the 08, the onlt thing I could imagine better, would be another 20 ft lbs bleow 7000 RPM!
That would be HOT, but leave the exhuberant electronics on the drawing board and give us raw real power, not the high maintenance heavy junk...
Yeah Im old fashioned... LOL

quote: Kawasaki’s next-generation Ninjas look set to feature this radical new engine design after plans for a ‘flattened’ motor were refined and re-patented for a third time in eighteen months.
The dramatically re-imagined inline four is the work of the man behind the firm’s MotoGP-contending 800cc ZX-RR, Yoshimoto Matsuda, and promises to solve a number of problems at a stroke.
Its stacked gearbox is a Kawasaki first and makes room for a much longer swingarm, a change the wheelie-prone ZX-10R will most benefit from.
Canting the cylinder block forward to an almost horizontal position makes room for a bigger airbox and straighter inlet tract to boost power.
But perhaps most importantly it gives the firm scope to move the motor higher in the frame – raising the bike’s centre of gravity, and bringing the rotating mass of the crank – closer to it.
Those facts should it more flickable and corner-hungry. With the gearbox under the crank the motor still isn’t overly long.
“Kawasaki just need to get the engine into the right place - they've had four stabs so far and got it wrong every time. Maybe this will do it” says MotoGP tech guru Neil Spalding.

Now that looks very promising!
Husaberg have just done this with their dirt bike, KTM and Yamaha MX'rs looking at it too.
If the bike is designed with simplicity in mind, meaning 1 sheet of plastic for each side, along with the simple tank and subframe mounts shown above, it would also be a breath of fresh air.
They need to mount the ECU and electronics right under the guages and behind the headlights too, and leave he trunk open and light.
(I am in midst of re-positioning everything there on my ZX14 Turbo.)
Get the weight up front, and off the levered subframe.
Get that subframe as light as possible so all of the mass is centered over the motor and frt wheel.

I gotta say the LOST horsepower on the Yamaha isn't hurting its success in Moto GP or World Superbike and now AMA racing. There comes a point when you can make way more power and be unable to get it on the ground . I'm glad we are getting OUT of this paradigm paralysis we've been in for years . Every manufacturer needs its OWN design not a carbon copy of what everyone else is doing.
