Personally I found the Maxton map too rich on pump with an air filter...
The exhaust tip was completely black with soot in a good 300-400 mile days ride, comparably as black as it would get with 1 month on the track map.
Those were maps from 2006 for the 2006 bikes...
Others have found different though apparently...
I know Brock was using a LMA1 data logging AFR at maxton when he made the maxton map, so it should be spot on for that altitude and the temps/ Barometric pressure, but I am not sure if he did any low or mid rpm tuning with it.

The roll-on solved nothing. The first time we fired them off I pulled him a bike and hit my rev limiter ,as a result, he pulled me a bike then he immediately got off the throttle(said his bike got the high speed shakes). The second time we pull even the first 2 gears then I started pulling away (Slightly) and he got off the gas. Not only is he a hell of a rider but he also is a hell of a gamer and will simply get off the gas when he sees a lose coming. I told him if we just run the bikes all the way out I feel as thou I will beat him convincingly and he told me the same. As for now we both agreed to call it a draw, as we both were running less than a gallon of fuel and a third run was not confidently possible. I have a reaffirmed respect for drag trees and predetermined finish lines. I look forward to writing the final chapter of this affair at the drag strip. We are still cool, in fact he left his bike at my house(with the key in it) until he has a chance to build something theft poof at his house.
Thanks Dubious for allowing me to simi-jack your thread and for the advice from everyone..

Want to pull a bike length on him next time Blk Ice? Go to Schucks/Checker/Kragen and grab the 0W-20 Mobil 1 oil and put it in. It's that simple.

100 lbs is alot to overcome, and I would be satisfied with that.
If you want to see the difference and he is honest enough swap bikes to see which BIKE is performing the best!
That or get a competent rider under 200 lbs to race him! That will end it all.
Your bike is keeping up under some very difficult circumstances to overcome.
You should be happy with its performance, if the riders were swapped the performance of your bike would become immediately evident.
I have raced guys like that, and realised they will never admit to defeat anyway.....

Dubious has a point. Even with my bikes power two of the guys with 1000's that are 18hp down in the video I posted (Kurt and Josh), are dead even with me until we get over 130mph or so. After 150mph its rediculus how fast I pull on them since overall HP matters way more than weight when the wind is a'draggin on your fairings.

I really think any gearing lower than 16/41 on the 14 makes it buzzy, and doesn't allow the massive torque of the 14 to pull a gear hard. Shifting too much.
The zx14 is not a revver like the 10, much like my diesel truck, gears that are too low, and create too many shifts actually slow it down... mind you sound like a big guy and the 14 is pulling hard already?
I weigh 215 with gear and after trying 16/44 gears went to 17/44 (same as 16/41 almost)
I found I was shifting too much, and 1 st gear became almost useless on the14 with 16/44... as soon as the clutch was out I was shifting...
The treadmill will be the cheapest answer, after that increases in displacement and compression will help you out. Nitrous is cheaper though....
The first impression riding the stock 08 zx10 was it was slow.
Uncorked, much like the 14, it really woke up.
I am still very impressed, more so than I have ever been with a literbike for power.
I'm running 16/43's and this (ZX14) thing pulls so hard, it just about rips my arms out of my sockets each time I twist the throttle. It spins the tire in 1st 2nd and 3rd when I twist hard. True that it runs out of gear fast, but doesn't bother me in the least. The nice thing is the fact that I don't have to down shift in 6th at 120 KM/HR or more to eat cars out there on the road.

Hey Steve,
Hows things?
Agreed it pulls hard, but even Ricky Gadson runs 17 or 16-40 gears at the strip... if 16-43 made for quicker et's he would run them too.
Ricky doesn't weigh 200+ lbs either though...

Things is good. Got my new Connie last week and am racking up the mileage now. She's a great bike and this one's pulling harder than the previous 08! Need to T/C her though and get her up to ZX pulls...LOL Would love to see it pull like a ZX.

sounds good.
its all in the cams, and ignition timing I think....
Update on the zx10r.
It new nick name is Nasty Bastard.
After about 8 updates on the maps, and much hooliganism the thing flat hauls.
It doesn't pick up on the top end like the big bike, but very very close.
Between 100 and 250 KM/hr I out ran a zx14 with tsugi 4-1. about 2-3 bike lengths.
If it had a lower 1st gear and less wheelie tendency it would be a little rocket.
its a spooky little bike, corners like its connected to your brain, but damn spooky at top speeds.
I had it up to 290 corrected in 5th gear and it burries 300 with another 1000 rpm left in 6th, and yes it pulls redline in 6th gear!
It will pull the tire off the ground at about 8000 rpm in fourth sometimes...LOL
I call it spooky cause i was on it hard in 5th and about 250 km/hr the front came up off a small rise in the road, and it gave me 1 wag on the bars when it touched... the crosswinds carried it a little sideways...its so light in the frt end.
he picked up the bike yesterday, and came back stating its damn spooky and will take a little getting used to.
I would never feel comfortable riding that bike at the mondo speeds I enjoy so much on the 14.
The fuel tank is quite small too, the range is quite restricted if your into it hard.
I am still trying to figure out why its runs rough between 2500 and 6000 rpm.
I tried leaning it out and richening it up , with and without the throttle plates, and did not have much luck.
Maybe someone on here has gone through the same dilema.
It bucks like the fuel or spark is intemitant, at steady throttle positions, of 5 to 30 pecent, between 2500 and 6000 rpm. Only at steady throttle positions, if you wack it takes off like a scarred rabbit.
The bike has Ivans servo motor eliminator, bazzaz with zfm, and a speedo healer, in addition to the pipe.

The Bazzaz setup is not very easy to down low, right? It is my understanding that increments on the cells are bigger than on a PC3?

BTW
I don't advise taking the flies out on the 08-09 zx10.
The opening rate is about as fast as the bike will run properly with the cams in it, and it unlike the 14 with the heavy crank, becomes almost un manageable in 1st and 2nd gear.
It just so responsive, ( like a lightswitch) and so light it wants to light the tire when leaned over in the lower gears, even at part throttle.

I'm having a similar issue on my ZX14...surges in fourth gear between 3000 and 4000 rpm (haven't tested it above 4000 rpm) and only when throttle is steady...all other gears are fine...I will be trying a new map soon (Brock's)...hopefully that clears it up, otherwise I'll just ride around town in 3rd (rpm/noise is a little high at 45mph...all the squids think I want to race them...which I do...SILLY SQUIDS!)

Speed cell battery is working awesome.
I have sold 6 of them now, no complaints at all.
Working flawlessly
How else can you free up under hood space, and drop 10 lbs for $275?
Best weight loss bang for the buck out there, once you strip the junk off the bike.
To cut 10 lbs off with Ti, or carbon fiber it would cost at least $1000.....
