zx10 with zx12 or zx14 motor inside???
Has anyone done it? I'd love to sneak my carpenter built 1290 into a zx10 frame.

the best sleeper in history weas the old 1100 Zook
in a 750 frame..............................simply killer
they ran into problems
in a engine HP is converted to torque.........................the true motive force
the conundrum is you Can multiply torque.......you can multiply HP
so if you srtart with 100ft lbs torque......& 100 HP
by time you route thru the primary & the tranny
you still have 100HP but you may actyally have 200 300 ft lbs of torque
the rub is the frame has to handle the torque
many times people percieve parts are broken by HP
theyare actually broken by torque
if you had a spare frame ......stick an axle in the rear swing arm
attach a 10 foot pole..........................take a 200 pound guy & have him lean on it
or take weights from your gym set & attach
& you will see MASSIVE frame flex & Delection
the old ZOOK frame would actually try to shorten themselves length wise
on the left chain side..............the torque would actually try to make the
2 sprockets meet
& no HP at all

Horsepower is just a measure of torque over time by way of RPM, it doesn't "convert" into anything.....

The ZX10 makes more horsepower than the 12 and the gearing is much better on the 10. A 14 in a 10 frame might not make such a great combo just because the power delivery and the short frame could make it just plain unstable. Maybe, maybe not.

the 12 motor is probably nearly twice the weight of the 10 and you would have way to many clearance problems the 10 motor barely fits in the 10
