butterfly valves 06 zx10

i was searching around on here earlier and saw suttin about removing the butterfly valves..i was wondering if some1 can tell me how to go about doin this and what the affect would be
i picked up a set of two brothers pipes and i was thinkin about hollowing out he converter on it
let me know what u guys think

IMHO, there is no need to "remove" it. The B-fly will fail open, that is to say if you remove the cables it will spring open. I found this when I replaced my exhaust. You can cut them or detatch them at the b- fly motor under the seat.
As far as the catalyst, I would say leave it. It is a bit of work to get it out. Pain in the ass. I would either leave it or buy the non-catalyst pipe from Arrow and install that. Also, if you do so, you should get a Power Commander or similar because you will run rich >5k and get a lot of pop and such.
You can see what all you have to remove for the catalyst in this pic. Rear set, heat shields etc.
