2008 ZX10R. ZX14s beware..
I have had the bike to 1 track day. NOT STOCK TIRES either . The bike is just plain fast. It handles like a 750 and hits like a ZX14 !
I took a ride this past weekend up to Vegas, while I was cruising on a RURAL hwy, I was run down buy a lad on a piped 07 wht/red flamed ZX14 Ninja. We looked at each other and taunted each other a few time til we both gave the thumbs up to hit the gas for a 4 mile top speed run. I hit 1st, I gained about a 3 bike jump on the ZX14, ran thru 4th , 5th , and ran out 6th all the way to redline. The spedo quit registering speed at 189 MPH .
As I got back upright I saw the ZX14 approx 8 bikes behind. The ZX14 had nothing for the new 2008 ZX10R . We made 2 runs and the results were the same.
This bike is just plain A W E S O M E ..
Some guys read shootouts on the new 1Ks and say the 2008 ZX10 was not a very good streetbike. I say it was purpose built, and not for the faint of heart..

How much ''rider'' does it take to go flat out on a long stretch of road? Unless there was a big difference in weights of the riders, it's the bike. (and weight of the bikes)

Latest issue of Sport Rider said that not only is the '08 ZX-10R the best liter bike on the track, but is also the best for the twisty back highways as well. As far as "packages" go, this one seems to be complete.

I just bought one 3 days ago.. all I can say is WOW, this thing is a monster.. I'm really impressed with this bike.. I have now owned 2 different ZX12Rs and I have ridden a Zx14 a few times, and several other 1000CC bikes. I honestly feel that the 10 could easily keep up with the 12R stock to stock, and mabey the 14 if I can get outta first without either melting the clutch or flipping over backwards lol.. But yes, overall this bike handles amazingly and is very fast, it has power everywhere.

Get this....... My 05 10R Piped, Intake cam, Cleaned up cylinder head, thin head gasket.. 08.....10R ALL THE SAME STUFF except milled head as well....... MY 05 WALKS THE DOG ON IT!! The 08 was also strait off the dyno and in the hands of a very good rider.. The 08 is a very nice bike VERY VERY nice.... The 04 / 05 are still monsters !!

I ran my two bikes against each other tonight.. First we went to the 1.8th mile and I did 6.10@122 on the 12R (lowered, piped) The I could only squeek out a 7.0@111 on the 10R..
So then on the way back home from the track with my buddy driving the 12, we did a few hard pulls.. My 10 walked my 12 pretty dang hard.. So . . I'm happy lol.. Got my track bike and my daily driver and they are both perfect for their intended uses lol..

I owned an 05 10 and now own the 08 10. My complaint on the 08 was the too soft midrange where the 05 was a beast, after 8000rpms holy crap! Where the 05 was fast the 08 rocks. The new pipe and power commander has fixed the soft midrange, now its holy crap all the time!!
