Need help with 07 mods!!
We are putting a 2007 ZX10R engine kit in our race car and need some advice from you guys. What all can we do to help out with power?? We are not going into the engine other than maybe head gasket??
Header?
Head Gasket?
Timing advance?
Air Filters?
ECU?
Cams?
These are oval dirt cars and we keep them up high in the RPM range.
Thanks, Bryan

use a tre from ivan,
It will give the engine optimal 5th ignition timing, and open the secondary throttle plates sooner, in every gear, by making the ecu think its in 5th gear all the time.
time the cams 108degree's on both, thinner head gasket, exhaust, and if you can find kawi race cam for the exhaust.
This combination should give you around 13 more rwhp.~ 170-175 depending on dyno etc.
I don't own a zx10, this is just what I have heard and read in the past.

Thanks, what is a TRE?? Is this a plug in device like the Power Commander?? Also, where do I look at them.
Thanks, Bryan

yes it is plug and play, not for mapping, just fool the ecu to think its in 5th gear all the tiem and gives it the best 5th gear ignition map. You will also need a power commander to have the fuel mapped for your new configuration.
the guys typically remove the secondary throttle plates, which kawi uses to neuter HP output in lower gears, along with retareded ignition timing.

Many ppl have differing opinions, about the tre, many simply pull the throttle plates, but omit the throttle response and power to be gained by getting the optimum ignition timing back, which the tre does for you.
the throttle plates will make no difference if your above 6000 rpm all the time, but the right ignition timing can give you a couple HP, and better throttle response...
2hp, here 2 hp there.... it all adds up.
If you are alowed to turbo, i woud suggest that route... LOL ...
260~ 280 hp on race fuel with 9psi, for the stage 1 kit!, the zx10 will handle that on stock internals.
the rods and crank are good for 350~400 hp, but pistons need to bechanged for more than 280 HP.
the clutch is the issue with 06/07 zx10, nobody makes a lock up clutch for them yet, so with the added traction of car tires, and more than 200 HP that would become your concern.
