nice power curve, and nice numbers.....what is that, the stock pipe? if not what manufacturer? Was it a slip on or a full system? What was the air like? Temp?
need lots more info to make those numbers make sense....but they are nice.....

So, maybe after all, those official kawasaki numbers are right? (188hp standing, 200hp riding) ?
Anyway, what do you expect from 998cc bike with compression ratio 12.9:1 ? 150rwhp??

this thread is getting as silly as the haybusa boys. there is a beleivable dyno of an '08 ZX10, then the crazy chit that mad claimed.

Different dyno show different numbers,so you can not compare numbers from dyno A with numbers from dyno B because A might show more than B.
So if you test hayabusa on dyno B you can not compare it with zx10r on dyno A. Take Busa to dyno A and test it there.
08R1 produces ~ the same power as 06ZX10R.
So 08ZX10R makes ~8rwhp more than 06ZX10R and ~12rwhp more than 04ZX10R (because 06zx10r makes ~4rwhp more than 04ZX10R).

Steve -- face it man, the R1 was always weaker than all the top 2 other other liter bikes, except the Honda, which is always the heaviest and ALWAYS comes in last anyway...
R1's were always the hottest looking of the pack though.
Suz has always been tops and now that's over and done with since the 08 10 is King of the heap now (jap bikes)!
Been like this always --
1) Suz
2) Kaw
3) Yami
4) Honda
Today -- I guess it's Duc and Kaw tied for 1st, though I'm not a big fan of Duc, personally.

Info is the spec kawi has released for the last 3 zx10r models...
for comparison sake...
The 2005 zx10r they claimed 175 PS at 11,700, 184PS with ram air
2005 Peak torque was claimed 115 N-m at 9500 RPM
Peak range 9500 to 11,700 rpm
Kawi 2007 they claimed 175 PS , 184 PS with ram air
Peak torque was claimed 114.7 @ 9500 RPM
Peak range 9500 to 11,700 rpm
Kawi 2008 is claiming 188 PS at 12,500, and 200 PS with ram air...
Peak torque is claimed 113 N-m at 8700 RPM
peak power range 8700 to 12,500 RPM
So they are saying it has picked up 13 crank HP, and 16 Crank HP with ram air at 1000 rpm higher,
meanwhile maintaining torque at 1000 rpm lower...
so likely 10 RWHP and a power curve 4000 rpm wide vs 2000 rpm wide...
That is a very fat increase if you look at the curve, and the peak!

Also, remember situation with stock 2008 zx14r that produces less hp on dyno because it can't get enough air into engine. So i believe more and more ram air efect we will see on new supersport bikes. They squeezed everything from engine capacity, now its time for electronics, aero and air induction.

Dude my 10R already makes more power than that. And the upgrades to the motor for this year haven't been done yet. I'm not worried at all. It won't be a problem..

You guys that "bow" to the Kawi brand kill me , this is going to be fun. yes FBA, the gixxer 1000 has always been on top all things considered (handling braking performance), but the ZX10 has been a straightline winner.
But anyway, the litre bike thing is coming :P
honda smoked the Kawi in the 600 class in '07 and shocked the naysayers, watch the litre bike.

ouch, you're so right. but Brock and them will be posting real chit...anyway the local tuners around here will have the real '08 pulls soon too. the 14's numbers are plastered all over, and no one has claimed > 170 HP out of one yet.
