Building a turbo '06 -water-air intercooled

With the help of Andrew Pearce at FAST in Ohio, I'm building a turbo '06 ZX10 for land speed racing. It will have a water-air intercooled plenum and piggyback injectors. Installing very nice Muzzy turbo pistons, but will stick with stock rods for now. Will be tuned at SM2W. I'll post with some results and pics next week. -Dean

Cool! Knew it would not take you too long to add a turbo too one of those 10's. Look forward too reading and seeing the results.

Great!!! will be waiting.
Are you sure to keep the stock conn rods? Will they handle the extra power?

Wow what a shocker!!!!!!
Couldn't be happy with the best looking, quickest ZRX streetbike in the country........now you're gonna do it to a 10.

Missed you on Sunday at Maxton, was everything okay?
Oh yeah, thanks for the offer on the sprocket. The one Chad borrowed from Sal worked out fine.

Congrats Chad and Dan on your success, 201 on a all-motor 1000 is prettty damn amazing.

I left on Sat, after my first nitrous pass. Let's just say I'm no longer a believer in single-nozzle dry shots for LSR racing. Bring on the boost.

I got my Muzzy turbo pistons yesterday, and they are gorgeous. I had ordered some MTCs that I will return, but I'll take some comparison pics and post, the diff is clear.

Fondo I'll put it rods in it at some point, before big power. Rob Muzzy posted that their test bike pulled up to 500hp on stock rods, so I feel ok running these for a while, with a safe tuneup. BTW, Rickey is now racing that turbo 10, went 7.91 at 64" - MIRock PSB legal.

I was wondering where you went! Another problem with the dry shot, huh? How much were you trying to spray? I am installing a dry shot for the next meet (on my 12)...

Here's some pics of the pistons, the 4 Muzzys were within a tenth a gram in weight (169.2), the MTCs were within 1.2 grams (~182).

Shane I think it had more to do with the distribution of the spray, not how much. I would suggest 4 nozzles or a spray bar with 4 holes.

Yes, CP pistons. I'm going to keep it reasonable for now, 14psi max. Not sure on power, we shall see.

Yes, Tial gate just not bolted up. The turbo is a Precision 50 trim T04E / T3, should flow plenty.

Andrew does sell kits, from street bolt-on to custom full race. Very reasonable costs, smart guy, excellent workmanship. His cell is 937 520 8580.

more later,
Dean

Made some progress, test fitted everything and there is so little room for error, Andrew did a great job laying everything out. My job is to plumb it all, and so far so good. The oil cooler had to go, and the filter is moved. The radiator will fit, but swing forward some. Oil will gravity return from turbo.

Thanks Zack, once I get the kinks worked out it will go somewhere. I blew a MAP sensor and chased my tail all weekend. Congrats on the fast runs with your 14.

ZXLNT the compressor is actually not that big, it's a Precision 50 trim T04E housing, a 54mm wheel. The big kits use 61mm wheels, with S housings.

he asked to keep quiet about the silver bike

Andrew seems to really know his shit!
Talked abit about different configurations, boost creep, wastegate locations etc!

I am drumming up a few orders for him.
