RIP dave

one of my buddies just died after wrecking on a new 2007 gsx-r. he was doing 80 mph on an on-ramp, and lost control, hit the guard rail and went over into the ditch below. he was not wearing protective gear, and was new to riding bikes i.e. had ridden for less than 6 months. so for the new guys to riding, WEAR YOUR GEAR, and take a motorcycle safety course. it could very well save your life.

Anyone that new to bikes has NO business on a Gixxer 1K. BUT, that's a debate for another day.. I'm sorry for your loss and I hope he didn't suffer.

Wear your gear people so we don't have keep telling our friends we're sorry for their loss. This is several in the last week that could have possibly been avoided if gear had been in place.

he had no kids and he was only 21. the other thing, is he outrode himself, not the bike. it is a long sweeping loop that guys on sportbikes routinely take at 90+mph. a little experience in this case would have gone a very long way ie, track day, safety course. they are worth every penny you spend on them

Bad deal....the younger we are the more invincible we believe we are...not trying to blame...
I have been that way anyways.. not uncommon in sport bike riders and youth in general..6 sad but true that 6 months is a very short time to be riding a new liter sport bike...

sorry for the loss....
