Thanks for posting that............
People forget that if we were not fighting them there, they would be doing it here........
Most folks were not in law enforcement when 9 11 happened.......
red elk, think of what is just 30 minutes south of us........
when I was a cop, they thought the arsenal would get hit, or nuclear 1, and conway was in the middle, it was a crazy day, fights at gas stations, etc. I cannot imagine what those at ground zero had to deal with.
those people are heros, and so are those serving right now.........
To those who dont like it.........
Move to freakin Iraq............

my 17 y/o will be joining the delayed entry program this weekend, I've already signed the paperwork. He will graduate high school early in December, attend boot camp, and then during his 10 days of leave, he will get his high school diploma wearing his dress blues.

Sometimes, we can not be heard due to the shouting of others. Opinions on the "conflict" might differ, but our support for those that have and are currently serving, never wavers.

My first thought was the arsenal. While that would be bad.... the NCTR getting hit scares the crap outta me.

Classroom Desks
Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock, did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school, with permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she took all of the desks out of the classroom.
The kids came into first period, they walked in, there were no desks. They obviously looked around and said, "Ms. Cothren, where's our desk?" And she said, "You can't have a desk until you tell me how you earn them."
They thought, "Well, maybe it's our grades."
"No," she said.
"Maybe it's our behavior."
And she told them, "No, it's not even your behavior."
And so they came and went in the first period, still no desks in the classroom. Second period, same thing. Third period. By early afternoon television news crews had gathered in Ms. Cothren's class to find out about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of the classroom. The last period of the day, Martha Cothren gathered her class. They were at this time sitting on the floor around the sides of the room. And she says, "Throughout the day no one has really understood how you earn the desks that sit in this classroom ordinarily." She said, "Now I'm going to tell you."
Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it, and as she did 27 U.S. veterans, wearing their uniforms, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. And they placed those school desks in rows, and then they stood along the wall. And by the time they had finished placing those desks, those kids for the first time I think perhaps in their lives understood how they earned those desks.
Martha said, "You don't have to earn those desks. These guys did it for you. They put them out there for you, but it's up to you to sit here responsibly to learn, to be good students and good citizens, because they paid a price for you to have that desk, and don't ever forget it."

Hey Red,
I just got back from the sand box about a week ago, and I said it before and I'll say it again, "YOU ARE A CLASS ACT". I and many of my troops appreciated the support and positives from those that have genuine thoughts of hope for us. Thanks for caring brother.

1bad7... I'm just one of thousands... no... HUNDREDS of thousands of friends and family that keep you, your brothers and sisters in arms, in our hearts and minds every day. Each and every day.
This video is one of several that was created by a 15 year old girl, Elizabeth Palmer. It has been viewed over SIX AND HALF MILLION TIMES! That alone should speak volumes on those that really care and pray for the safe return of all our troops.
This is from her YouTube bio:
Name: Elizabeth
Age: 15
I'm a sophomore in high school, and I play the flute/piccolo. I plan on joining the U.S. Army after I graduate. I only hope I can make America as proud as our troops today have, and I hope I can honor them in the way they deserve with my videos.
I love talking to American military personnel, but it's not very often that I get the chance.
Hope you all have a great day and God bless! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!
Miss you, Prisca!
She does have a few more videos of support and here's a link to them:

I have never heard such ignorant statements about the facts leading us up to this point in Iraq. The cock smoking back water jerk off in the off-white house has f'ed this country worse than any other president in history. Thanks to W (for wanker) we will end up spending the next couple of generations trying to reestablish our credibility with the rest of the world. And for the f'heads that don't understand, read some world history.

Red: thanks for posting that; i'll have to pass the link on.
as for the rest of the people spewing the garbage in this thread, thanks for showing us who the real class acts are. You are to be commended for your honesty in showing the world exactly what you are and how shallow you are.
For those who are still serving and have the class and the knowledge to NOT return fire against these un-armed opponents, thanks again for proving beyond a doubt the caliber of people that our military has VOLUNTEERING every day for it.
I've yet to meet a real live breathing Marine, Army, Navy or Air Force member who espouses ANY of the negativity that has been posted on this thread. I've met many who feel the exact opposite.
Supporting the troops does not include telling them they are failures, that they are incapable of winning a war, that they are losing a war and that they are never going to win....

I am not as eleoquent as Sherm in my writings. But I have to say that this being my 2nd time around over here, I am tired. I am tired of our president and others who really are clueless as to the state of this country making decisions that they really know nothing about. I am tired of watching my buddies die for a cause that is not their own, I am tired of trying to impose a way on a people who do not want it. I am tired of being seperated from friends and family and the people that I care about. I am tired, and am ready to retire.....
That being said, I will never grow tired of the support and caring of the American people, and from others all over the world. I do not agree with being here, but its not my job to agree or disagree, its my job to do, and I will continue to stay the course as will the rest of the men and women that serve and protect here in this God forgotten place...because we are professionals, and because no matter what we think, these people need us....they needed us long before we came here, but they will continue to need us long after its time to leave....that being said...its time we leave....we came, we saw, we did what was asked of us....
Later HDL

HDL: Hopefully we (USA) will can the clueless leadership and recall some of the old hands who know HOW to fight a war.
It sure would be nice to go into battle without your hands tied behind your back....
Sadly I see us in Iran before this is all over.
Thanks for your service, your time and efforts are NOT wasted, and they are NOT in vain. And they are NOT taken lightly.

Thanks Slug...I will always keep my ears open and my head down...
Jhinderliter, fortunately this will be my last trip anywhere, when I get back from here I will drop my retirement packet and have about 9 months left in the army before my effective retirement date....thank GOD...
Nothing we have done here has been a waste of time, but we are getting into that area now...where we have overstayed our welcome, and we have done about as much as we are going to be able to do.
Right now I am helping train IA and IBP soldiers, and we teach them the same things over and over and they dont retain them...we have SF here teaching the same things we are, and its all in vain, as our way of doing things is not the Iraqi way. So they will never be LIKE us, and they dont want to.
They are too dependant on us right now and need to start stepping up and dealing with things themselves...its the only way they will survive when we leave.....of course these are just my opinions...nothing more, nothing less......

"So they will never be LIKE us, and they dont want to."
This sums it up.
Our ancesters had to fight and think their way through adversity to get to this land one way or another. White, Black, Indian and even the illegals that cross the boarders now. It is in our gens to fight for what we believe in more so than any other country.
What we are doing over there needed to happen sooner or later if we where going to keep our way of life because Bush knew we would not want to give up our 500HP Corvettes, Mustangs and pickups. And now that we have shown the rest of the world how we get around in style we have planted the seed for one big fucking mess.
I do support our troops and salute you on a job well done with the resources given. Now lets draw the line in the sand and get it on.

you can't untrain culture in less than one generation
However you can give the new generation the ability to choose the old way or the new way.
And that's about all that morality can expect of us.
I just wish we could figure out the whole border thing and stop importing more people toshoot at.
Maybe if they figure out the Iraq border they can use that knowledge to fix our own....
Or maybe pigs will fly....
