Best Kawasaki Green?

So I'm putting together body parts for the Pearl Solar Yellow '06 ZX10 I bought, for which I have a good tank and sidecovers. I bought a one-piece tail section and fiberglas Busa front fender. Instead of painting the tail and fender yellow to (maybe) match the tank and sidecovers, I'm gonna paint it all green. I know a local painter who has the code for '04 ZX10 green, which I like.

I want a solid, non-metallic, non-layered green. ANybody have any ideas? What's your favorite KHI green?

Dean..............Without doubt the 05 / 06 10R green is the best. ColorRite says they are the same between those years. The 03 12R was also a good green.

I like the 06 better too.

Does anyone have the color code for the 05 or 06 green?

I think I found it: Color Rite 3051 Kawasaki 617. Oh boy, I'm glad I'm not gonna be stuck with the yellow...

Parted it out Rick, no more ZRX. On to fuel injection, light weight, land speed racing without a fairing. I'll do my own turbo someday, hopefully with a Muzzy header, but for now, I'm gonna SPRAY it.

Dean...............Tell ya what... Last year I had to do a paint repair on a 05 636 frame and I took it to the local paint store and had it scanned because I didn't want to pay color rite what they wanted for the paint.. Moral of the story -------------------------> Get the paint from them ( Color Rite ) it's worth the extra cost.. After sanding the shit off twice I ordered the Color Rite stuff and BINGO!! Perfect.

That looks nice Gunner. Does your Color Rite code match the one I found above; 3051 Kawasaki 617? Not sure exactly how this works.

Thanks,
Dean

thats a hard lesson to learn.
i bought color-rite paint for my zx11 swing arm and had the paint shop at one of the car dealers i worked at paint it and bake it.the comment the painter made was that is the cheapest paint he ever used.(thin as in junk paint.)

Here's the trick about their paint. Whatever it is or what ever you want to call it. It's the same as the OEM uses. The texture and depth of shine in spot on. The issue that I had was with the clear coat. If the rest of the bike has a depth of shine that's one way and the repaired spot has a deeper looking shine than it's worthless repair. I'll agree the OEM shit is thin, BUT it's that way for probably several reasons.

I don't care what someones opinion is when they spray it I just want it to match and like I said that 636 frame is DEAD SPOT on.. I had several people try and pick the repaired side and couldn't. AND I'll say this much part of the reason the paint matched so well was because it was thin.

Dean I didn't pain the green.. I only painted ( Spotted the frame ) The body was all new shit.

I think you will love your 10!. Tthese litre bikes are so light and fun.

My rebuild is nearing completion well I hope anyway in the next 6-8 weeks tops it has been 10 months now Was not done by HP Cycles this time although Jeff did build the first one well but man he has changed never answers e-mails or can get him on the phone guess business is well for him.

Lots of changes and neat stuff being done on this motor Cyro, ceramic/friction coatings, vent holes etc will be a strong old school 1k. SMTW will map it when it done.

Here is a pic of one of the ports started on a lil larger and a good fit for the busa TB's going on

CP pistons-nice pistons will have the undersided coated with oil shedding coating and the tops with ceramic along with the head and exhaust ports

Rods and valve springs friction coated and considering doing the main/rod bearings more for longer life span than any hp gain the head coatings are unknown but should in theory make a few more and stand up to some spray when I get bored with it

Oh yeah..the 06 green looks nicer. The early 80's Edddie Lawson green I like aswell but I bet a dark metallic green would even better but not my bike.

Might check out Porcshe. BMW, Aston Martin car sites for paint colors/ideas

Wow, looks great Rick, looking forward to hearing the numbers. Thanks for the tip on the paint, I think I am going with the '06 green, cuz I like it, and so it will be 'correct'.

I keep looking at the bike and I can't get over how SMALL it is. Looks way too short.

That bike and my 10R both have AutoCom Pro7 radio systems. That's the antena for the bike to bike radio. Notice the cord laying on the seat that plugs to the helmet. Works perfect and also plays tunes and has cell phone and radar hook up as well. Auto mutes the music when a call comes in or the detector goes off.. Damn nice stuff... That antena is all of the system that you can see.
