tranny problem?
my gears are sticking under hard acceleration. it shifts smoothly during normal street riding but when i open her up she doesnt want to shift. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would start with your shift forks, which is usually a pretty easy fix...

Before I started changing shift forks, I would be looking at the oil I was using, a good slick synthetic may be the ticket. Motul or the Kawasaki 100% syn. It could also be your shift linkage. Lower the shifter a bit and make sure the linkage is lubricated properly. It may just be binding.

Shit it could be a lot of simple things likw Ted said or as simple as the air gap on the clutch no big enough or less than perfect shifter lever angles. OR it could be the forks like Mike said as well. I would adjust the clutch first.

i had similar problems. Hard shifting and/or false neutral under a load or when going down in the gears. Found out that the oil was the problem. Put thicker / heavier in and it went away. Now i run semi synthetic and i havent had those problems anymore. 10-40 weight . like those guys said, it could be alot of things.

alright so i changed the oil and filter and it seems to have smoothed out alot. i only got to go for a short run so i wont really know untill this weekend. just wanted to say thanks for the advice.
