My 190hp ZX-10r build project
Hey guys, well I have been neglecting this site for a while but I thought I would come on over and show you guys my project I have been doing over the past 1-2 months. I tore down my motor and completely rebuilt is from head to toe to be a solid high horse power zuk killing machine.
First of all I'll tell you the mods i had before hand on the motor. It was basically a kawi intake race cam, a stock intake ont he exhaust cam and a .45 thin head gasket. I had a lot of other bolts ons as well but the things i added were
JE 2mm+ 13.5:1 pistons (1051 cc's) , Falicon super crank, Falicon Billet clutch basket, Aluminum clutch plates, Factory pro EVO 7 shift star, R&D undercut transmission and low 1st gear mod, Ceramic Transmission bearing and a KWS Head. I also O-ringed the block and installed all new bearings, stock rods and everything is balanced. I also added a dynojet ignition module to the set up and I got a set of Dymag 3 spoke magnesium rims with Braking 320mm Wave rotors.
I have a full build page here on my site www.garthman.com
direct link is www.garthman.com/zx1058.htm
I have about 60 miles on the motor on the street and dyno and it dynoed at 190hp and still smoking from the crank case breather so piston rings arent fully seated yet but Im hoping to get a few more ponies outta her.
Was a hughe improvemnt form the 180hp it made before with all bolt on, that other 10hp and all the light weight stuff sure did help.
What do ya guys think????

I think the rings should be sealed up by now is what I think. Ring seal is one of the hardest things to achieve. It's all in how the hone work is done and what the rings are made from. How they were installed and how they were operated on start up. It may be as good as it will ever get. I know your bike has plenty of dyno miles on it from the thread at .net and with 60 street miles as well it appears to be done in that dept. BUT WTF do I know right?

Have used aluminum clutch plates before? some say they can come apart and destroy your motor in the process..wonder...
what was your HP before additional mods?
Thanks!

I was at 180 with the stock pistons down and untouched head.
I have used them before not in the zx10 but my bosses 200hp 214mph busa hasent missed a beat in over 8k miles.
I hjave done some research, they say when you launch on them hard they can warp and all and i have heard some CLAIMS of them breakin apart but i dont know about that. My clutch basket is a billet one piece anyways so in the event somehtign does go bad it will be contined
