master cylinder 04-05 zx-10r

Anybody or everybody maybe change they're master cylinder on their zx-10r 2004 and 2005 for something else.

So what you put in place with which result. And yes I got steel braided lines, and I blled the brakes oftenly. But when you track session with the standard master cylinder, and when the heat coming on the brake lever almost touch the handle.

I got friends with 04 and o5 Zx-10r and they all do the same.

I hear that some body use the radial master of zx-6r or gsx, did that work well.

It's the piston size on the stock master that kills it. Almost nothing you do to the lines, pads, fluid, rotors or calipers will ever get you track ready brakes with that tiny pos bolted to the bar. A 19mm Brembo will work the best, but the radial pump off any other bike is likely going to fit and cost a lot less. A stock radial pump off the new 10 or a ZX6 is a good start, but if you have trouble locating one, Gixxers have a decent Nissin pump, and Yamaha has a oem version of the Brembo. You might also consider lines designed for the 06/07 10R or the radial pump equiped ZX6. Might be a better fit. For pads the Vesrah SRJL are nearly perfect in all conditions.

While the brembo is a sweet upgrade its not necessary for street riding however for the track its the wisest choice.

The 05 zx6r radial pump is just fine for the street and trackday use without any issues and is color matched to the 10's surrounding components.
Vesrah RJL pads are yet another improvement over the OEM pads that are worthy of consideration.

Get a Nissin 5/8" master cylinder. It is a direct replacement for the '04/'05 ZX-10R and firms up the lever a good bit. That is what I have on my 10.

5/8" is slightly less than 16mm. Stock is 14mm. My 06 gixxer has a 3/4" (1 rch over 19mm). I think I'd look for 3/4". I put the 19mm Brembo on my 04 10R and that was perfect.

I have the 05.........636 unit on my 10R and it helped a lot. I changed to the Superbike lines and Motul fluid as well. Still got the stock pads and it's good, BUT I'm going to add the SRJLs next. You can't go wrong with Brembo anything when you're talking brakes. I went Factory 636 just because my girlfriend had a 636 at the time and the brakes were GREAT on it so I figured it would be just as good on the 10R and maybe better due to the 10R's larger rotor size. I believe the pads will be the last piece in this puzzle.

are the stockers takin that much heat?

I will likely replace the ones on my 14 with galfers, they warped once already under warantee. No track use... just some street abuse.

Master cylinder GSX-R1000

So the cheapest way is to find a master cylinder of a GSX-R 1000 2005 and up.

Brembo master is it 400$ mainly ????

This just got posted on the CMRA website:

BRAND NEW BREMBO 19x20 for sale. $215 shipped. If you have questions please email feco636@hotmail.com

I'd jump on this, if I already didn't have one. It will likely go pretty quick.

The Brembo is the shit. What does a 636 OEM go for. Bite the bullet and get one. The difference is day and night.

I figure I'd give you a link to a loooong read, but it does offer at least one viewpoint ("answer").

Point is the zx6r will perform as well as the Brembo for street riding and mine cost $50 complete AND the brake switch plugs into the stock harness. Given the choice i still would choose the zx6r pump if i were buying new.

No it wasn't new (ebay) i too enjoy quality items like the Brembo MC especially when they perform as well as they look but since my track time is minimal i didn't see a reason for it.

pumkin sold and headed to the east coast soon

I like that it is a trick piece, It was a cake walk to plug in the switch. The adjustment is what I like the most. It allows the lever to move way out.
