Paddock Stand Bobbins

Just bought some rear R&G Paddock Stand Bobbins for my ZX10 (£25 in UK by the way)

Here's a daft question ! The bobbins have the Allen bolt through the middle, a washer on one end and a small flexible rubber ring round the end of the bolt. My assumption is that the rubber ring is there just to keep the separate parts together in the pack .... simple !

Then again, am I midding something and is the rubber some sort of seal or vibration preventative ?? You know what it's like ... I'm questionning my own intelligence here
