On the strada's.....
very slick in slightly dusty roads.... very noticable compared to the Bt014.
slick in the wet.
take longer to warm up.

Wear like iron!
1500 km , and only burn't 1/3 of the tread.
I'd be done with a BT014 at 1500-2000 km the way I hammer the 14!

great tire for long long cross country rides, but will stick with softer ones for playin.
I have a spare rear wheel, so one of them will be wearing strada from now on.

I disagree on a few points... no problem whatsoever on wet surfaces.... in fact I feel these tires excell in this area over others...

as for comparing them to sticky tires... you wont outride the stradas on the street.

put tit this way ....
The high silicon content is very noticable in lower temps like 10C.
Seemed much better at 20C, and i imagine way better around 30C ....

I could feel the tires slide and squirm under the 14.... on the street !

mebee, I'm justa more sensitive guy.. :P

strada's scrape the pavement searching for traction, while Bt014's leave nice fat streaks and squeel like pigs exiting hard corners in bottom 3 gears.

The pavement here is too unpredictable to lean it over till the fairing drags, but many times I could feel the strada's move around under the bike while when leaned over modestly, and never felt that sensation with bt014's
Lotsa construction, lots of dust and dirt on the streets, like your misfortune parking lot slide, so riding style is more upright, as you would on Ice, to keep the wheels under you.

So I beg to differ, " you won't outride strada's on the street" is a pretty broad statement if the street coefficient is unknown !

Great high mileage tire though.

Sorry Dub, but I just dont buy what you're saying... I've personally tested these tires back to back on 3 different bikes (see our review) and "searching for traction" is not in the cards...

Sorry, but I have to disagree 100% with every comment you're making, and I have an extensive tire test to back my findings, coupled with a large amount of miles on the tires.

What you're saying simply can NOT be true. The attributes of the Stradas are not what you describe and their reputation simply refutes every single point you are making.

Honda spray polish or pledge will work. but first get yourself a forty of old english, drink that down then start buffing.

nah but really sorry for your fall man, it always sucks when you have something so well taken care of and kepted all pretty and then stupid shit like this happens. but your ok so that is what matters, you know I had janitor at my job he got out of his truck and walked around it to go into the super market when a car backed up and hit him, not hard, but enough to knock him down maybe 2-3 miles an hour and he hit his head so hard on the asphalt that he bruise his brain, he has been out for four months now, he lost basic motor skills and speech, they have him in rehab and its going to take a couple of years to get him back up to speed. glad to hear your ok.

It really don't take much to scramble a guys brain does it. Sad to hear about this guy... Proper gear and just as important Proper fitting gear really makes the difference.. My own girfriend fell in the spring and her helmet took a beating as well as all her other gear. EVERYTHING! but she was unscratched!!! One totalled 636 but she was untouched!! Amazing what having gear will do... I never got the chance before her fall to teach her how to fall properly either. So when she hit it was FACE first! Arai did it's job She never let loose of the bike till it stopped... I have since instructed her to let the bike loose and protect your body! Try and save it till it's lost and then in an instant get clear of the NOW 450 pound meat grinder..

i wouldn't go that far fish. you can outride the stradas under certain conditions, like bad pavement and cold temps (especially if u don't give them time to warm up). i have felt the rear slip in those situations, but i have also had other tires (including the 014s) slip in the same conditions. besides, if you _try_ to outride them, of course you will. point is, IME they will hold up to anything you _should_ be doing on the street. and of course as they get old they seem to loose a bit of sticky like any other tire too (remember my big ol' slide in WV the other day?)

freek.... dont read into my post... we both clearly stated that you shouldnt be able to outride the stradas on the street... you said the same thing. I havent felt them give at all on the street and I've ridden the shit out of them, knee dragging and all... they're everything you need for the street.
