It's hard to fault the Racetec from Metzler. Ultra stable carcass, loads of grip, decent life. Dunlop's 209 will have you making a lot of compensatory suspension, ride height and even gearing changes. The new Michelin Pilot 190/55 rear is likely a winner, but I've not tried it. Ran a Michelin 420 slick at Streets today. That tire isn't a weapon, it's a fucking arsenal.

race tires are not a good idea for street tires, they require to omuch heat to work correctly. The michelin pilot powers are a great street tire, and a decent track tire. The powers will hold for all but the fastest of riders on the track. Others will not agree, but I ride track tires on the street, and its no fun at all, but i dont have 2 sets of wheels to change wheels out, so I dont have a choice due to money restrictions.

The new Dunlop Qualifiers are great track and street tires.

MP, just keep in mind that if someone offers you a set of "Take Offs", think twice before putting them on. Especially for street use. There's a reason why we call them that... we won't run them and we take them off.

Like HDL said, heating them up and the number of heat cycles the tires have been through are important issues. Tread depth is not a reference point you want to use. Even if they were half way decent, unless your a licensed racer at or near a expert class level (and road like that on the street), I doubt if you'd like a full blown race tire on the street. Even for 20% of the time. (Opinions may vary on this, but slicks still suck in the rain)

I can't speak from experience, but the new Pilot Power 2CT might be worth looking into as well as the "regular" Pilot Power. And like Bovine said, you might need to make some suspension tweaks depending on brand and profile.

I will buy the corsa 3,

I have used race tires and they are not safe for street and with time they just become hard.

They are not meant to have lots of heat cycles.

Pilot Races have been serving me as Street/track tires very well. Just need to be conscious of getting alittle heat into them before going full bore. I'm making this recommendation considering your 80% track/20%Street breakdown. If it was reversed I'd say go w/ the Pilot Powers.

I have the the Corsa 3 r. tire on my tire rack right now! I'm waiting on that free front that they're supposed to be selling me. Then I'll mount them to my spare set of wheels & let y'all know how they held up.
