06 10r tinkle sound
First post on this forum, this site seems to have more 06 owners than most.
Has anyone had a sound from around the tank and under the head stock area that sounds like some washers are loose. This has been there since new and nearly done 2000mls now. It has never changed allways the same sound at between 2000 and 3900 rpm on neutral throttle.
I dont want to strip the bike if it is normal to this bike.
Can not beleive kawasaki putting on qualifier tyres as standard. Well that is what you get in england. They are ribbish.
got 002's now. any one on them?

I say just get earplugs or a D&D exhaust.lol, just joking. Seriously I would dismantle the whole thing and inspect it carefully. Most technicians are not trained for noise that they never heard before. It happened on the vibration on my 05' they never found the noise until I got some suggestions from this site. Good luck!

that is what i was hoping to get off this site.
the sound is not the engine.
will have to take the tank off.
maybe it is only mine.
i went to a track day yesturday and on the way home i was really trying to see where it was coming from.
it sounds when i am in neutral throttle and then back off gas slightly but only at about 3500rpm. i wonder if it is some thing to do with the throttle sliders. I dont even know if they sit on top of the engine yet.
doing my head in.

Had a similar noise; I located the "outer portion" of "the round horn speaker " was rubbing close to metal ; I simply bent it away and solved the wierd noise. The noise varied along with engine RPM...
Your noise can be something else ; hard to say over the internet..I would check and see to be sure...good luck...

I don't know where they mount it on the 10, as i ride a 14.
On the 14 its inside the front fairing, the windscreen had to be removed to access it.
There was recall for the nuts comming loose on the 14 tip over sensor, its basically like a mercury switch, but i think they use a ball bearing on the bikes, it shuts down the bike if it goes down, so damage and carnage is minimized.
someone here will know where it is on the 10.

Check the plastic over on the bottom of the ignition switch. When you hear the noise reach under the ignition switch and apply upward pressure to the plastic cover and see if it goes away.
A friend had that problem on his 06 and that was the cause.
