Diablo Stradas! any input?
I'm riding on a pair of Stradas due to their promotion a couple of months ago. I only payed $25 for shipping for the (FREE) front tire. I ride a lot of twisty canyons here in SoCal and so far so good. I already got rid of the Pirelli prongs on the edge of the rear tire. My question is how far can I trust these sport touring tire. I was chasing a 600RR yesterday , and we were both going 150+ mph on this fast lefthand sweeper on the freeway. Everything was fine, but I always had that thought in my head thinking if my sport touring Diablo Stradas would still stick under the conditions. I normally run Diablo Corsas during trackdays. How far would you push these tires?

they do not have, nor claim to have, the same grip as Diablo corsas, but for any sane street riding they should be just fine. I know there is/was one track school that actually used them on their bikes. I'm sure it wasn't for an advanced class but still.

I'm sorry bro it expired about 2 months ago. check out www.getpirelli.com or www.getmetzeler.com I think Metzeler might still have their promotion going.

I ran a set of Avon Sport Touring tires on my ZX12 at a trackday years ago, not quite the grip of a Sportec M1, closer to that of a Dunlop 207, but more than enough grip to drag pegs/knees, plus they were consistent all day long(the Dunlops sure weren't!), they didn't drop off much at all. Slides very predictably. The back straight at JenningsGP is curved, not much a straight, wide open throttle accelerating out of T2 from around 110 to 155+ to T3, whiled leaned over. No worries.
A good rule of thumb I always say is until you look at your tires and they're all buggered-up from one edge to the other then upgrading your tires won't make a rider any faster(have to upgrade the rider) so the sport touring tires will usually suit the 98% of street riders riding on pricey race rubber(sometimes with chicken strips... my god!).

I will take your advice bro. Will see next month I'll keep the Stradas on'em we're going to Willow Springs (big track). I'll let you guys know if the Stradas sticks on turn 8, hopefully make it through T9. Hey you can't go wrong it"s still a Pirelli...
