06 zx10r whinning noise
I noticed a whinning noise coming from my bike at low rpm just before stopping. I have pin pointed it to be between 3k and 2k rpm. has anyone else had this problem... the bike has about five hundred miles on it and I just started hearing it today.... and no I don't ride withany girls so I know it isn't them whinning :-)

Does it appear to be coming from the airbox region more so a closing throttle while slowing down?

My 05 had all sorts of mechanical noises when it was new, music to my ears. The alternator was especially whiny. As the bike broke in, sadly most ot the noises are gone. I wouldn't worry about it.

My 05 makes a major racket from the airbox at about 4k...major...so I just turn the iPOD up louder...

I needed to physically back off the horn away a bit to reduce the rubbing noise it was making as it was near metal ; can't say for sure on your bike but you can check this out to make sure horn speaker is clear from everything around to a proper distance (I think it was vibrating against the triple tree; been two years ).....10r still noisy naturally ...

I Have just bought the new 10R and mine does make a whinning noise at the front of the bike. I took the bike back to my local dealership and the mechanic there told me it was the front brake pads rubbing and that they take a while to bed in. Hope this helps
