Bent front axle
I just had my front wheel off to replace the tire and I noticed when I tightened it back up the wheel wiggeled so I removed the axle and sure enough it's bent. What I'm asking is what could have caused this?My bike has never been wrecked and the only other time it has been removed was to replace the recalled rim,did those assholes replace my axle with a bent one or was it caused by the only thing I can think of ,one of my headshakes,I have had one severe enough to back off the brake shoes caused by what I was asking the bike to do on a rough surface.

Don't have a clue how that happened to the axle. that will load the wheel bearing unevenly which wears them out quickly. so you would want to check those while your there.

230lbs + wheelies = bent axle.

Bullshit. 230 lbs or 430 lbs, wheelies or no wheelies, that stock axle is a fucking joke. Last time I saw anything that weak and spindly was on the '86 Gixxer 1100. Somebody (not a bullshit swallowing Kwak sycophant and preferably with an IQ over 100) read the service manual on installing the front wheel on the 04 and tell me, without giggling, that the engineers were not high on crack when they built that assembly. To this day, after maybe 50 changes, I am still appalled every time I have to swap the front tire. Stupid with extra stupid sauce. A bad idea poorly executed. Clearly out of step with the current level of technology. The turd burglar in charge must have left that "insignificant" bit of design to some young intern with a tight asshole. Hope I'm not out of line.

BO,
so you think that part is a problem. Try this for size the threaded pins that secure the front brake pads in position are about 5mm shorter than they should be, end result on a test on our 04 Superbike the pads fell out!
End result one damaged bike due to hitting the wall ( scared the shit out of the rider ) but do you want to know the really stupid part is the factory boys a week before on a test had the same thing happen and have known of the problem for a while!
Now this problem is obviously a Tokiko design problem and the fix...........replace the pins with those out of K4/5 Suzuki caliper set as they are the correct length, pity they didn't advise us of the problem prior to the accident.
So my advice is Loctite the pins in place on a road bike this is not a problem as you don't change the pads every race, Anyone else had this happen?

I have dropped some hard wheelies and I am 230 in gear....I cant count the number of times I have done it, and never bent and axle...only way I can see anyone doing that is if you bottom the forks VERY hard dropping a wheelie.....like it was 12 oclock and you jammed the rear brake.......but even tha tis questionable.....

Pads falling out is the most common brake related DNF. Live and learn. I use a dab of silicone on the ends of the pins.
