I had an 05 10 before my 14 and it made 158 with an FMF slipon, then after the thin head gasket and cam timing adjustments it mad 170, don't see any reason the 06 are in the 160's

RESULTS!!
Bike is all STOCK (air filter, airbox, secondary flies etc.) w/ 1200 mi. on odo. Only mods are Full Akro Evo and PC USB.
In typical Akro form, the Stock system makes more h.p. and t.q. up to 5,300 rpm. As much as 4 ft. lbs. between 3,500 and 4,500 rpm. However, it makes up for it by crossing over and producing 3-4 ft. lbs. more than the stock system from 5,500 to 6,800. This results in a flatter, smoother torque curve.
Now, here comes the interesting part. Once the secondary valves are fully open (@7,000 rpm.), the stock system AND Akro. make the same h.p. and t.q. all the way to 11,000 rpm.
Peak power arrives on both systems at 11,600 rpm. Stock 165.56 h.p. and Akro. 167.82
2.26 h.p. This is after mapping.
Limiter hits at 12,500 rpm with the Akro producing 4 h.p. more.
Interesting note: Uncorrected H.p. is 152.48 stock and 153.39 with full system after tune. The overall weather conditions may be a factor here.
Another 06' 10 on the same Dyno produced 5 more h.p. stock and 4 more h.p. after the same mods and mapping. The only difference was a BMC Race filter was in the other 10 at time of mapping.
This confirms my findings that the stock exhaust was designed to flow very well.

I've said before on other forums that the exhaust that comes factory on todays bikes makes good power. My 10 made good hp with the stock pipe and slip-on

Kinda feels weird reading this...kinda like hearing from a guy who's dating my ex or something I just keep telling myself...next year Tim, next year!! I am surprised that it only gained a couple more horsepower... So the comparison was done with the original dyno?
And Psycho...I have the battery adapter and CD...still searching for the USB cable--I believe it's a regualar USB cable though...but I'll keep looking.

Yes Guam......It was on Mark's MJP at N.V. Cuople up top and smoother through the middle.
Not bad when you consider no exhaust valve.

No I mean were you comparing it to the first dyno run I had done or did you strip it down and throw on the stock exhaust? Sounds crazy but I wouldn't put it past you

I just did the head gasket and intake cam. By the seat of the pants I'd say it was worth it but wait til I dyno it. I was making 166 with modded stock exhaust P/C and ignition module. By the way this beast is pulling right now I'd say I'm close to 180 at least. This is a sick bike for sure.(quote: my '04 with a REMUS EVOLUTION slipon and only 1500 miles on the clock makes 158RWHP...

Why do you waste your time on this board? Obviously you don't like the 10. Handling is subjective but you can't argue with the power that it makes. You sound jealous to me. I have no complaints with the 06 10r. quote: EXCELLENT !!!!!! Now Kawasaki just have to make it go 'round corners !!!!!! Oh yeah and stop a Bit better too !!!!!!!

What do you mean ?????? I love the 10, and mine looks SWEET !!!!!! But compared to the other litre bikes it seriously lacks cornering ability and stability...........and the brakes (before i changed the pads and put braided lines on) were bloody atrocious !!!!! Ialso own a'05 Blade with 175bhp........now thats a sweet handling bike !!!!!!! lol

Good job guys. Those are some nice numbers from you liter bikes. Shit its getting harder and harder to stay in front of you lot... I managed 175hp with my 12 with just some minor mods, still some more to come. It would really help if I could drop a 100lbs.

2005 dyno
I had my 2005 zx10r tuned today , it has a tre , velocity stack , pwc3 , extended 8 inchs, with chrome rims, Dynojet dyno !!! was only 147 to start made 4 pulls with sniffer and tuned 12.5hp back into the bike, it woke it right up.
159.57 hp
79.00 ft pds of torgue
So with ram air at 80 mph it should pick up a pony or 2.

well from what i have seen with my 07. a area p bolted to the stock header is hard to beat. the 06 07 stock header is a very good header. that is hard to improve on. why spend all that $$$$$$ to change some thing that's very good to be gain with.

The 06-07 models are faster and alot stronger than the 04-05 models...All you have to do is go to Ivans Performance Products website and he has all of the Dyno's for each models including the 08 models as well. The 06 made more power and has alot better spread of power and a flatter torque curve than the 04-05 models. The 06-07 models made more horsepower than the 04-05 and more torque than 08-09 models which tells you it has more nut in it and it's horses are alot stronger than the rest of the other models.....I've ridden all three of them and this is my conclusion....But all in all they all are very fast and powerful Ninja's as far as i'm concerned....And that little bit of extra horsepower, torque, and 5-6 pounds lighter or heavier give or take it all comes down to the rider.....Just my .2 cents
