Getting ready to work on my 10. Where can I find....

I am getting ready to work on my 10 to be ready for the spring. I am going to do the following mods.
Thin head gasket.
Yet another set of tires.
K+N air filter
Area P can
And a set of Kevlar brake lines, the question is: Does anyone here know where to get a set of green lines?

was an area P in the classifieds the other day.....

thin headgasket....from kawi

Tires...if you like Michelin and are a Sportbike Track Time member, get them there, very reasonable.....if not check with Parts411...or kneedraggers...

K&N filter...EBAY.....37.50

brakelines.....cyclebrakes.com They made my brakelines with gold anadozed fittings, and black covers....they can make about any color line, adn have limited colors for fittings....reasonable prices as well....I went with the galfers they sell....

Cool!
I am going to get the can from kbryant.
I use the Pilot powers, they are awesome.
I am wondering if the Kwak gasket is as thin as the Muzzy.
I was really asking about the brake lines, I had no luck using google.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure they are 2 different gaskets. I think the Muzzy gasket is thinner.

Ted........I have a Brand New Kwak head gasket laying here, and it measures .017" thick. I took this at several points.

Thanks, that gives me a baseline for which I can compare to the Muzzy!

the muzzys gasket is .30 thinner than stock and the kawasaki head gasket is .20 thinner than stock.

If it was me I would'nt open up the motor for just the thinn head gasket and nothing else , thats a minimal gain for alot of work. Just my.02

Let's see here..............0.2mm= .0078"
........................................0.3mm= .0118"

That's .004" thiner for the Muzzy Gasket which would make the Muzzy part .013" overall!!

That's mighty thin indeed. Mr. Muzzy can you confirm this for us please?

if that is true, the Muzzy is for me. I live at altitude and could use the extra compession.

I think it is 91. There is no real need for high octane at this altitude. If anything it hurts performance.

Yeah.......I agree.....you don't think you'll bump the compession up to the point of needing higher than 91 Octane with the thin gasket do you?

What's your elevation? 4500 to 5000 feet? I suppose you go up much higher on some of your rides...........great country out there.....

No I don't think so. You are right, I am at 4500 and most rides go up from there. The only time I really drop down is when I do a Reno(4500) to Truckee(6000) to Sierraville(4000) to Downeeville(3000) to Grass Valley(1000) and then back to Reno. So it doesn't matter any way I go I have to climb a mountain and then go downhill(which doesn't work the engine) and then at that point I can pick up some higher octane.
Just for reference I run 89 most of the time.
