Very cool. I had forgotten completely about them.

That would be the F5, F8, F7, and later the F9.

Suzuki also had a dual range transmission.
5 up wasn't all that inovative, I had a YL1E that had a 4 down.
The postive neutral finder was it. I Believe the F5,F6,F7,and F8 had it.

This may be too esoteric, but I will put it out there.
What was the midyear change they made to the 1970 H1 and why?

CDI ignition was replaced with points because of euro fears of radio interference. Disc brake was added as was the aluminum forks, and newer guages.

opps , that was the 72 model. The distributer and plug wires were redesigned but I'm not sure I remember why.

You are good! I am impressed, nobody knows this shit.
The original wires went under the the carbs, there was so much energy from that system that if one of those BUHX plugs failed the path of least resistance could be a carb. And maybe a fire. So they moved the wires to the top which required a new case, dist cap, rotor, and wires along with the 2 extra layers of insulation.
