Fun Factor I've currently got a black 04 with a full akra, 16t front sprocket and a muzzy (hyperpro) damper.
From what I am hearing, I am now in no rush to trade up my 04 ZX10R to the 06. The 04 is easily the most fun bike I have ever ridden. It is like a big bore motorcross bike. It bucks, shakes, tries to spin the back tyre and lift the front at the same time and looks like a stealth bomber.
I've ridden a friends Gixxer K5, which is a bit quicker than the 10 in a straight line (full Micron, pwc). It's not as much fun. It all becomes a bit too easy, and on the track, the 10 rules.
If the new bike is more sublime, in the way a K5 is, then I'm waiting for what comes next.

I have a 02 GSX-R1000 and a 05 ZX10R. The 02 is great after $3000 in mods.
The 05 is better with $1500.. I like riding them both.
No matter what,Just riding them stock Is a joy.Because next year,It will change.

I couldn't agree more. I love how twitchy it is. Although I have ridden with a coulple of 05 GSXR1000s and none were a match for the 10.That could be that the 10 handles altitude better.

I agree, the 10 is a monster up high in the revs a bit tricky to keep on the pipe
but once you get it down your gixxer friends won't like you so much!

Black 04 ZX-10R here: I find it much more managable with Scotts steering damper and yes mucho fun ..even as an overall bike.... some folks don't realize how ergonomically friendly this bike is...power , looks and ride score a 10R in my book...........glad I got to own this Kawasaki before I turn into a complete old fart... not there at 48 ( YET ) but I am begining to taste whats it like being old ....LOL....hehe

I reckon the 04/05 ZX10s may be timeless beasts
like my Nissan GTR. Doesn't matter that it is old, it still destroys most cars on the road these days.
